As a middle class hard working person. I usually never have extra time or $$ to go to shows like this. So putting up a production this good and free for people like me to see really means a lot. Love you guys and thanks for this awesome video / production / music. God bless you all this holiday season. May 2022 bring us all together, and may we heal this world.
Better TIMES are now coming.... With regards to Covid-19, its important to also real socialize with healthy people, then also the HERD immunity will start to work. It doesnt work if we sit apart.... our computers, iPhones ++ WILL be better times now
There are certain words to describe the emotions I've felt while listening to Olafur, a calm, a peace, a sadness, a stillness, a sorrow, a poem, a love letter, a lost love, lost hope, finding peace, knowing God, understanding, reconciliation to the world! I felt it all I've felt it all! I feel it all!
The first time I saw Olafur live was the day my Nanna passed away. I was in Germany, she was in Australia. Of course, he had to finish the set with "Song for Grandma", didn't he? I bawled my way out of the theatre.
I was fortunate to watch olafurs show at the royal albert hall a couple of years ago to launch Re:member - he had family and friends and record company filling the Audience. When he played that song as an encore im pretty sure both Oli and the whole crowd were all in tears. It's one of the most beautiful moments I've ever been a part off.
stuart barclay same thing for me. The most beautiful and heartbreaking moment I’ve ever experienced at a concert. Just a stunning conclusion to a wonderful evening. Left me speechless and devastated in the best way.
Olafur Arnalds is probably one of the main reasons why I've matured as a person. His music helped go through difficult moments and by the emotions he conveyed throughout his compositions, he helped me realize that sadness and loneliness are not the only emotions, but parts that should leave a significant mark in on your life the same way happiness and joy leave a mark. Thanks for all the help.
Jesus loves you, and is here for you. “Now, therefore,” says the LORD, “turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” Joel 2:12
This is one performance that inspired me to learn to play piano so that one day, I too can play the Sydney Opera House. I don't care if I'm 90 when I do it, I'll get there! Thank you Ólafur for your beautiful music and sharing it with the rest of us. This world is all the better for it.
I am so pleased that I saw this beautiful man and listened to his mesmerizing music at a small club in Moscow back in 2012. We were all sitting on the grass floor, it was so silent during his performances until he starts a small talk in between, and every time he speaks you feel like he's touching your soul pure and gently just like his music. I've had a great and fun time. I asked him if we can hug each other and he did, and I keep this moment deeply in my heart to this day.
We lost our beautiful neighbor to covid yesterday evening. This brilliant concert is helping to bring me out of tearless, paralyzing shock and for the first time away from the overwhelming darkness that has shaken my soul . . I am grateful. 🌏🌘🕊

"There are many kinds of sadness." Wow, that makes so much sense to me. I wish there were words to name these different types beyond, grief, depression, etc. We need more subtilities....

I put on this concert for the first time, thinking i would listen to it while doing things around the house. I sat in my chair spellbound. As the first piano notes were played over the audience’s voices tears rolled down my cheeks (not of sadness or heart break or even joy, just for beauty, and that he enabled everyone there to be part of creating it). What a powerful effect this music has, and what a gift artists such as Olafur give, who choose to direct their talents to such lofti purposes. I hope he enjoyed some well deserved rest after this.
Ólafur seems like such a down to earth person, and he's funny as well. Loved his jokes lol. Listening to this performance was such a beautiful experience. I wish I'd be able to see him live someday. I will always be grateful to my friend who introduced me to his music.
I have restored the original front door to my 1871 farmhouse listing to Ólafur Arnalds. I find his carefree yet intentional songs inspirational to the progress of my otherwise quiet craft. I hope you may all be inspired to create something in this world of ours. Safe travels
Like when rain drips on the roof of a house, silence flows through the windows, like tears on my face, music that washes away sorrow washes the soul, so tender, thank you
Oh, find everything you possibly can to love, and like in this world, and share it...Spread the love, spread the liking... Even when you feel miserable think of something you like, and show your smile to a stranger.
There is beauty in our world. I am so fortunate to have found this performance by such talented musicians again. Bravo! Olafur Arnalds 👏👏 🙏❤️🌏🌎🌍🌿🕊🎵🎶🎵✨️💫✨️
I hope to have one day the chance to see Olafur Arnalds in France....His music is so magical, impregnated of his country, like a dream in black and white...the first day of the world where the nature wake up
He is truly emotional, creative and beautiful. I've been to his concert in 2019 in Istanbul. I remember the jokes about Turkish bath and his heart filled with love when he was playing Lag Fyrir Ömmu. It's just impossible not to fall in love with him.
I can’t believe I saw this, after all these years of crying to his music my heart was beating out of my chest. He plays so effortlessly and is so humble. Seeing this all live played on instruments I don’t know it just makes it so much more special and maybe touch less heartbreaking.
I was at his concert in Belgrade last November, that was something magical...unbelievable, it's like he is not from this planet. You can feel the truth and honesty in every single note he/they play. I left my heart in that concert hall.
Every time I listen to Ólafur's music, I close my eyes. And only then do I move to another world. A world of peace, a world without aggression and enslavement. Into a better world !!
There's a lady in one of the shots who also has her eyes closed. Vision is very noisy - its why we've used sensory deprivation to attain altered states of consciousness for millenia!
Listened to Only the Winds, while playing Warhammer Darktide. Felt like i was the last hope for the empire of humanity. as if the music could speak for ogryn, which lacks the knowledge of many words. at the buildup towards the climax, i was the last man standing, desperately trying to fight my way through litreral chaos towards a wounded friend. i made it to him fought his enemys and helped him on his feet right at the moment the conductor unleashed bliss into my headphones with a gesture of his hands,... it was so memorable, i had to take a break and write this.
This is in my playlist… I love it sooooo much. I live in the Pilbara in Western Australia and I live to listen to this as I water my garden and look out to the bush .. thank you for your sweet beautiful music. I’m glad you’re Grandmother started you on music x
Only the Winds has always been a really impactful piece for me ever since I first heard it on Pandora while on a walk in the woods at sunset (not gonna lie, I broke down crying right there), and there's something about the live version here - and watching the living, breathing orchestra perform it, and Olafur's expressive rapture - that's just breathtaking.
That sounds like a beautiful experience. I know a lot of musicians would feel their music, but their are few musicians i've seen where their emotions come through as strongly as Olafur, especially during Only the Winds.
I just saw him on Monday (June 6ths 2022) . And literally cried. And meditated for easily half the show. Been listening to him for a lil over 10 years... Own all his VSTs he did with Spitfire Audio... And yaaaa he's just a master performer. Definitely go see him if you have a chance!! Even the lights were on point.
I was supposed to work... I like doing it with Olafur's music in the background, but this time I am just freaking sitting with shivers going down my spine. this is Art with capital A...
Nothing connects us like the harmonic resonance of music. It is the Universe in language as much as math is. This is a wonderful performance. Thank you. We are all still here and together regardless of what they say.
Love the fact he interacted with the audience so well, it felt like he was talking to a friend. Amazing performance!!! Every video I see of Ólafur makes me enjoy his music even more

The first time I have ever heard the music of Ólafur Arnalds............Awesome. Ólafur Arnalds, Viktor Orri Árnasonand and the Sydney Chamber Orchestra deliver beauty, emotion and perfection.
I was going to make a comment about how emotionally immersive and beautiful his music is. And absolutely, some songs can brings me to tears and it's incredibly difficult to put into words why but it's definitely not sadness. But then Ólafur went and told the bathtub story and now all I want to do is find that TH-cam video and add a comment about a bathtub 😅 I always enjoy when he tells random stories. He's so funny. You can go from laughing at his jokes to on the verge of tears from the beauty of his music in just seconds.

i'm from morocco , i don't know if someday i will see like this live , it make me feell like i have wings to fly away . music is such the wordless description to our feelings . i hope someday i can assist to this music .
cheers moroccan fella :D walou, we can keep dreaming someone will be bold enough to schedule such talented musician as Olafur or Nils Frahm. Tired of philarmonic classical concertos. This is beyond beautiful
I love your humble and humerous way to take away the drama of your music yet you are one of my favorites when it comes to modern classical music! I love your music. Very exciting! Thank you Olafur for your amazing performance!🥰💯
For someone whose music makes me cry every time without fail, he’s quite funny! I’ve been a fan for years but I think this is the first time I’ve heard him speak.
Magical music by Olafur Arnalds. I was at Kiasmos concert in Kyiv - the atmosphere was incredible, like a synergy, you unite with music. My next dream is to visit Olafur solo concert. Thank you Sidney Opera House for this video. I enjoyed it. Love!
This interaction with the audience is just amazing....he just asks for a simple C, making everyone comfortable, building what he needs for what's next, and then, the contrast with how they go into the next tune is just staggering. Everything is under control, there has been so many things that went into consideration to that tune yet that it's just rolling, and you go through a fun audience experiment to a fully mastered musical piece...he's tired and want to go home, but we still enjoy what he has to offer sooo much! Thanks for your work Olafur!
De France je le dis, là où tout semble nous opposer il y a des lieux où nous nous retrouvons tous, il y a des profondeurs où nous avons dressé nos maisons communes. Merci de laisser la porte ouverte monsieur. From France I say, where everything seems to oppose us there are places where we all meet, there are depths where we have erected our common houses. Thank you for leaving the door open, sir
There is so much gratitude for this human being. Not is he only an exquisite person, and a unique music genius, but I think I've actually laughed more at him talking than watching any comedians take the stage. Top Artist.
I don't know how many times I listened to this magnificent concert when I sat at the table and started working. It makes me happy and makes my job better. Thank you so much Ólafur Arnalds, Sydney Opera House, and the fascinating orchestra. 👏🏼👍🏼🤩
There's something magical and enchanting about music like this. It's simply more than just a master piece. Perhaps, somehow i feel every note of this music deeply synthesises with our deep emotions.
Song for grandma... I've heard it first time live in Belgrade last year. What a way to end up outstanding performance! And story about his grandma was so emotional tho. Ólafur, simply best of a kind.
Turkish people say “hayat işte” its mean just a life but more complicated. something sad, something about life, about hope, about existence, love. I can feel this after every single part.

Cela traverse le corps comme un courant chaud, ça émeut et ça réveille. Doux, touchant, précis.
When I listen to this music, my soul feels like it’s being held. ❤️
visit iceland once in your lifetime and you will understand, where this musical beauty is coming from....
'Only the Winds', probably the most beautiful piece of music ever.
oh man, tears won't stop falling
I love your humble and humerous way to take away the drama of your music yet you are one of my favorites when it comes to modern classical music! I love your music. Very exciting! Thank you Olafur for your amazing performance!🥰💯
And thank you Australia operahouse for your sharing this amazing artist!
He gives my soul a voice ...no words just feeling
I love this man. Sweet, gentle, down to earth and funny as well.
Love!
Ólafur, it's always a pleasure to feel how life stops while listening to your work. Thank you for posting this Opera House.
Brilliant #OlafurArnalds

I discovered hope, like street lights, furrowed openings to another realm, lost and found again, hope and hope again... - kinyo
I love his music... ALL of it. It is something so incredibly magical that when you close your eyes, you feel like it's another dimension.
I do listen to it with my eyes closed too... I feel like the world is expending...
always a master. I recommend watching one of Isak Finnbogason's live drone streams over the active volcanoes and listening to this.
I hope you are at home tucked away comfortably and making more magic to share with us.
Near Light with all those additional instruments is quite different, love that!
What an amazing musician, he is truly the Chopin/Bach/Mozart of our time…
Utterly unbelievable. So may soaring places. this deserves an hallelujah.
Thanks a zillion for putting this great music up for free. Greetings from Egypt ❤

This was definitely missing from our lives... Don’t know how to thank you @olafurarnalds
