- In today's Artist Spotlight, Brian talks about a fantastic young cover rock band from Romania, SHUT UP AND KISS ME! This extremely talented group is taking the music world by storm with their outstanding talent and fun music videos.
Though there are a number of musicians that perform with Shut Up And Kiss Me, the main performers are singers BEATRICE FLOREA, GIULIA SIRBU, AND ALEXANDRA PARASCA. Joining them are bass player MARIA TUFEANU and guitarists ANDREI CERBU and ROBERT CIUBOTARU (We were able to find the guys' names after filming). Among the amazing covers from Shut Up and Kiss Me include "California Dreamin'" (Mamas and the Papas), "Jolene" (Dolly Parton), "Wicked Game" (Chris Isaak) and Brian's favorite "More Than Words" (Extreme).

The guys are Andrei Cerbu and Robert Ciobutaru (wearing baseball cap). The girl in a light blue shirt is Alexandra Parasca. And yes, the other girls are Giulia, Maria and Beatrice.
Shut Up & Kiss Me is a phenomenal group. Great singers, great bass player, and great guitar players. They are doing a fantastic job together. My favorite singer of all the time is Beatrice Florea, and she has her own TH-cam Channel, please make an artist spotlight of her!

I have just found Beatrice Florea a few months back this year loving to watch her and her covers on ABBA. Another I like about her is playing her other two sisters I think of when she has the three of her singing, I like it much more. It seems her on her middle-left smiles more. Andrei Cerbu I have known about for a few years. He has been with many young singers playing guitar. I first saw with Sina-Drums. His playing the guitar is nothing less than remarkable. He has help with the back vocals and I just seen him playing electric piano. I do like the woman on the bass on her playing and the group using the bass. I do like the group on many songs and California Dreaming performance is spot on.

please remember this group! they are so phenomenally talented and versatile! it seems like Beatrice, Giulia and Alexandra can sing any song and sing it beautifully! Maria is an excellent bass player and sometimes sings background, too. and Andrei and Robert are as good with their guitars as anyone I've ever heard! they are all going places if they are not there already!! Robert Ciubotaru and Andrei Cerbu (black hair) and I think all are from Iasli. They're all about between 17 to 20. Andrei has done original songs with his band The Iron Cross. Andrei has also won medals for his guitar play in international competition. He was probably under 17 when he won those. If you check out Go Away or This Time (The Iron Cross) then there is Mirror Mirror with his band The Voodoo Child. A few years ago when he was going to go solo I heavily encouraged him to promote the talent in Iasli. I even got into arguments with his father because of that. And as Andrei and his friends know, I do hope to do an international music festival in Iasli to show them "some love". Iasli itself is a city of a little over 300,000 people near the border with Moldova.
They are so good. I like them as well. The guitarist also has a heavier band called the Iron Cross band. I think you should check out the band Dea Matrona from Northern Ireland. Dea Matrona are currently two young women who swap bass and guitar, share lead vocals and harmonize like angels. They are mostly a rock band but also have added acoustic songs to their live set. They were formerly a trio but the drummer left to go to University and now they use touring drummers. They did a lot of covers but have successful singles and are working on an album. They play festivals across the UK and Europe, have toured or opened for Eagles of Death Metal, Van Morrison, Status Quo, Feeder, Kris Barras Band and even the Black Eyed Peas. Theirs classic rock covers of Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Rory Gallagher have gotten them loads of praise and often from the artists themselves.
You are right on the mark. I found them a few months ago, and I am so impressed. The guitarist really has a knack of interpreting rock guitar into acoustic. That is very difficult to do. And the girls' harmony is unbelievable. They do close harmony extremely well, which also is difficult to do.
Andrei is the founder of this. His playing skills are up there with Stevie Ray Vaughn. There are other bands in the group. About 25 or more kids involved. I believe Beatrice and Guilia are the best vocals. They are outstanding. They could be signed on a label if they wanted. That good. Wish they were performing in the United States. Do more research on them. You might be blown away. And yes they have their on songs. 🤓😎😝🤪😜😛😋🎳🎺

the main guitarist is named Andrei Cerbu he has a channel on youtub. all the members of shut up and kiss me are also either solo artists with him or intertwined in other bands with him. they do a lot of covers and original music as well, here are just some of the band names : The Voodoo Child , The Iron Cross Band (nothing bad there, just good music) , The Ramp - Smokin' Dudes Records (this is where you can find a lot of their solo singers and artists) , they also work with a lot of other talented musicians such as Andreea Munteanu , Andreea Coman, Diana-Maria Rogojină , Alexandra Dodoi - Singer, Rockmina , Attila Luppinger , Daria Bahrin - Singer , & Beatrice Florea - Singer as well as many more .

Andrei Cerbu was on Romania's Got Talent when 10-11 years old. He totally shredded Gary Moore's Still Got the Blues. Not sure if he won but made it to the finals
I've been listening to them for a while on TH-cam and really enjoy their work. They are gifted performers and have a lot going for them in addition to musical and singing talent. I expect their future will be very bright. All they need is to get original material and put their stamp on it and get it out to a larger audience. Great sound!
These kids are incredibly talented and hard working. I've been following them since I spotted a young Andrei playing guitar in one of the videos uploaded by Sina (Sina Drums) who is another very talented artist. You may want to check out their other channels, all were a revelation to me and my opinion of todays musicians has changed completely. With young talent like this around we have nothing to worry about. Their original songs are great and their covers bring new life to our (I am 70 years old) old music.
It was when Sina did In a Godda de Vida song that I took notice of how incredible this Andrei was so musically talented !
I also discovered Andrei when he played with Sina, and I have been thrilled to follow his work and the other young people in Iasi, Romania, as well that he has sponsored.

Alexandra is my personal favorite, she has such a unique voice and she is GORGEOUS! The harmonies they can achieve is amazing and the guitar playing is always fantastic. Andrei just kills it.

I've been listening to these guys recently. They're great. And their English is amazingly good singing - not quite as good speaking but not bad. Even Maria (bass player) and the two guys sing well too, although you don't hear them often.

Alexandra graduated over 2 years ago. Guila is out of school and turning 19 soon. Alexandra is 20 or 21. Beatrice is in college and about the same age as Guilia
The lead guitarist is Andrei Cerbu. The other guitarist, sometimes bassist, sometimes drummer is Robert. Can't remember his last name right now. First thing to know is that Shut Up & Kiss Me is one of 3 bands that Andrei is in. Re Shut Up & Kiss Me, this is the 2nd incarnation of that band. Originally it included Maria (the female bassist), Andrei Cerbu, Kalonica (a drummer from Indonesia), and had two lead singers, Beatrice Florea and Daria Bahrin. After putting out a slew of videos on TH-cam, the group fell apart. Those older videos are not as easy to find now. Kalonica has some up, and Daria Bahrin posts them sometimes when life gets in the way of her putting out something one week. See if you can find them though, those were some good videos.
More recently, the new incarnation of Shut Up & Kiss Me that you have described came into being. The main singers are as you have described, but there is a third singer, Beatrice Florea. She is super awesome!
Andrei has been putting out videos from his oldest band, 'The Iron Cross', for at least 5 years. He is now 20. He has been putting out videos from another of his bands, 'The Voodoo Child' for about 3 years maybe. Do check out those bands and videos, they are more established that 'Shut Up & Kiss Me' and they have a lot more songs out, including originals, many of which I quite like.

Well for a bunch of Romanians, their English is fabulous, and their Spanish is pretty good also. Check the Despicito and La Bamba covers!! I can definitely see the girls performing at the biggest venues all over the globe. The Voodoo Child band (also featuring Andrei and Robert) are performing at a huge music festival in Brezoi, July 2023. They will be sharing the main stage with some big name performers.
Sofy ( another member of the Ramp Project too ) accidentally said "country" instead of "county" in her Jail House Rock cover and it was cute instead of a bug.

I been watching for a while. They are very talented and mostly acoustic. Which rare nowadays. And it is hard not to notice that the girls that are singing are as beautiful as their voices. .some have done solo acts. But they sound great solo, too. I'm am impressed with how well they do with songs I grew up with. And the girl on the base is also very beautiful. I hope to hear from them for many years. Together or separate.

I'm very surprised and disappointed that neither the video nor any of the comments that I read mentioned Andreea Munteanu. She is the lead singer of The Iron Cross, Andrie's heavy metal band, and she does many solo videos of many genres as well, not just heavy metal.

The singer of The Voodoo Child is yet another level above these girls (hard to imagine). Romina Apostol, aka Rockmina, has her own channel also. I want to believe she will be a star in the next few years.
I don't see any microphones on anyone. How do they get such good audio in all of their various scenes for all their different songs?
Andrei Cerbu (guitarist, black curly hair) has his own recording studio known as The Smokin' Dudes Records. Besides the Shut Up And Kiss Me group, he also has two other bands, The Iron Cross Band and The Voodoo Child Band, along with many other singers he does video-audio recordings for. All the singers in these bands also have their own You-tube channels as well. Except for their live shows/concerts, the audio is all recorded on separate tracks in a controlled environment in the studio and mixed with the video, just like the big recording studios do. That's where the quality of their audio comes from. Enjoy their work, it's top quality.

Daria Bahrin who sings with them sometimes is phenomenal. She has a powerful lovely voice and can do a wide range of music, ranging from John Lennon's Imagine to Credence Clearwater to harder rock to an acapella version of Jessie Js Price Tag (with Shut Up and Kiss Me) to smokin hot covers of Joe Cocker's You Can Leave Your Hat On and Desposito. She has her own channel. And yes, Shut Up and Kiss Me are very, very good.

Most if not all of these talented young people went to music school together or like Sina Drums met over internet . There's other young people mentioned in comments that are great but I'll leave my list of young talent many countries and genres (,I don't have these kids listed as it kinda hard to keep up with all the different groups they change into been following them for years but was waiting for them to make group or groups) but you can try some of these . : Angelina Jordan, Aurora , Diana Ankudinova,DaneliyaTuleshova, Chriztel Renae Aceveda, Casey Bishop, Kenedi Anderson, Nandi Bushell(multiple instruments), Courtney Hadwin, Allie Sherlock, Angelica Hale,Charlotte Summers,(Mimi and Josie) ,Martha and Lucy Thomas, Emily Linge,Celine Tam, Chevel Shepard, Emi Sunshine ,TNT Boys all are young upcoming talents (really young only 8 bass player and singer Ellen Alaverdyan(ellenplaysbass),Emma Kok, 6 Sophia Fatu & 7 Claire Crosby singer and already been in a movie ) try Grace Vanderwaal won AGT at 12-13 ) Opera try Amira Willighagen won Hollands got talent 7-8, Laura Bretan ,Beau Dermott ,Emanne Beasha . Bands try "The Warning Band" and "Liliac" and "The Petersons" all young family bands and " The Sixsters"(Ukraine) and "Dea Matroni" from Ireland and VOB from Indonesia .Also try these a ventriloquist Darci Lynn Farmer and Ana-Maria Mărgean and a violinist/singer Karolina Protsenko. And the genius composers Emily Bear and Alma Deutscher .

The cute short blonde girl in the group is Alexandra Parasca she's 20. The bass player Maria is also 20, she also just started college, she's going to an Aviation College, she's studying to be a commercial pilot.......

You ask for others to check out, well a couple of Austrian sisters now living in the UK, do covers and write originals - -My favorite cover they do is probably Please Pllease Me or Hotel California, fav original is tie Still A Friend Of Mine, and Any Other Day. great group. most of the girls are high school age. a few are 18-20 maria the bass player is i believe about 15
at least three of them signed on to the Ramp Project when they were ten so you can see how they grew because most of them are in their late teens now with a few in their 20s. there are at least 16 female lead voclalists that i have found so far and a number of famous drummers such as Sina and Kalonika Nixc who sit in occasionally and other instrumentalists. And of course the male instrumentalists plus some of the men take lead vocals also.

The Andrei Cerbu Band posts some videos form a live show they did around August this year. My favourites are Giulia Sirbu's performances of Beth Hart's Close to My Fire and Etta James I Just Wanna Make Love to You. Phenomenal work. Her stage presence is just spot on. The common theme for them is they all attend something like a Romanian music academy. Something like Juilliard over there. They all play multi-instruments too.

SU&KM mostly does soft rock ,oldies, country and classics. The harder stuff (and originals) is generally performed by the other two bands in the project. Once Iustina Bulimar came into the project and added opera and the like to the mix; Beatrice Florea started doing some opera-like lyrics too. You should see her (Beatrice's) version of Metallica's Fade to Black. She opera- classical sings the lyrics and in the middle Andrei busts out with the metal guitar solo.
