Bootmod3 iPhone Install on a BMW M4 and BM3 GTS Dyno

- So today I installed the BM3 GTS tune on my M4. I installed the tune using my iPhone and wifi agent. After the installation, I hoped on the dyno to see how the GTS tune compared to stock to see how much gains I made.

Great video... Most posted Bootmod3 videos are about extreme power options (Stage 1/2 +). It's finally good to have some info on the BM3 GTS tune. I have been searching for dyno info on the BM3 factory tunes for awhile. Great job....

Very nice job! Thanks for the video. I've seen people tunining their car w/ bootmod3 using a laptop. Great to see the process on an iphone. BTW, it's called "boot mode" because the "3" at the end is supposed to be an "E".

One thing I was curious about on the GTS tune is if it's smoother. I have 2018 M4 literally identical to yours, but sometimes this thing feels rough. From a stop and taking off sometimes it feels " jumpie" or the shifts feel a little delayed or rough. Just before I bought this car a friend of mine had a M2 competition that I drove for the first 3,000 miles on it. This car felt alot more smooth and didn't have these issues. I was thinking it was tuning difference or the fact that the M2 was brand new and my car has about 30k on it.
So I think the GTS tune is smoother but that could also have been the transmission tune I added at the same time. The Jerkyness you speak of is more than likely the DCT transmission. If the M2 was stock it would feel different as the base tune in the M2 is different than an M4 as the M2 makes less power.
How much did you end up paying for the whole time in the dyno?
3 pulls is $100 and before and after modification pulls is $150.

Hi instead of buying the Enet cable and then the WiFi connect thing, would i be able to buy say an obd which is Bluetooth in the first place? Or does that not work with bm3?
Yes you can by the Kies OBD adapter and connect to your phone. More options are out now
Do you plan on going stage 2 with full bolt ons? And are you going to do the crank hub fix or at least the capture plate? I just got a 2015 M4 last week and i want to go stage 2 but hesitant

No.. wheel it probably does at the crank but not wheel horsepower. Dyno’d measure how well the car can put power down.

Yes sir.
Does the GTS Tune work on 2017 M4 stock? If so does it void warranty?
Yes it will work on your M4. The only tunes backed by warranty are Carbahn and Dinan. If you choose to use BM3 or any other software if the dealership can prove the tune messed up the broken part they can fight the repair. Just ask your shop if they are tune friendly. Some are and some are not
How much does the warranty generally last for?

Is it safe on the car and will it affect reliability?
To dump or the tune? I would say the dyno is safe. Tuning your car is always a risk. I would say if you take care of your car and stay up with supporting mods you should be fine on BMWs.
