You don't count the start lap because everyone is running nose to tail and have to brake more than usual for people around them. There is always usually overtakes on the first lap, has always been like that. Thats why they don't count.
From that perspective, might aswell make an f1 race 4 laps.

The pack wasn't really that mixed up, after lap 5 everyone was in the position that matched their speed so people simply didn't had the pace to overtake the car in front.

I give props to any of you who can recall the highlights of a majority of the best F1 races since maybe last decade, at least. When I see the way Bottas started that race in the opening turns simply amazes me. It's gotta equal many of the best starts in history, given the time, place and circumstance. You could tell right away the race is his to lose.

1. It seems Roma Grosjean is richest man on Earth, every day he crashes one F1 car.
2. Kimi's Radio Transmission..........how come Bottas infront.........and his engineer says he was leading the race and then Kimi said I thought it was Hamilton...........so funny.
3. In the end the funniest part is the way Kimi was spraying the Champaign..............Oh we love Kimi for such things.

It's a power circuit, in a racing series where the cars have significantly different power outputs. It's hard to pass someone when you're slower than them...
Everyone was in a position that matched their pace. So they simply didn't just have the pace to overtake the car on front. It's not the track's fault. And as a Finnish person this was the most exciting race this season and yeah sure this was boring for other fans.
52 laps of racing, the highlights of which ... 1 overtake, 1 accident, a brake fire and 2 pitstops ... what an exciting race as per usual
Just as tip: Never buy a car with Honda engine or you'll retire in the middle of the street!

It's funny how everyone in the comments say this is one of the most boring races ever but the finnish casters said this was one of the most exiting races ever.
Maybe they said that because Bottas one. A zero overtake race in Russia does not come close to races like Canada 2011
Both finns on the podium, one with a long-overdue victory, and were fighting for 1-2 for a large part of the race. Of course, it's exciting for them -- it's a win-win situation!
