Used to be something I was running before when everyone was running around with railguns. It was incredibly good and I could get on top of those rocks while blasting them with the arc. You could do the same thing with the flamethrower but there’s also a chance you put yourself on fire and it’s close range. Used to do it to bait enemies away from my teammates (gotta be careful my teammates are not behind my target), you know like a tank while my teammates did the objective. They couldn’t get on top and I just stood there blasting them. If I needed to escape, I stun them and use the jump pack to fly away. Nowadays, I’ve switched my playstyle and I’ve mainly become a support role. Turrets (cannon, emp, man-handed) + spear. While my teammates were playing close range and getting rid of nests, I was on top of a cliff, medium to long range, and supporting them with the turrets. Surprisingly effective against any enemies except for chargers and titans, and my teammates managed to survive most encounters. The moment a charger or titans popped up, I would use my spear which surprisingly has a really good long targeting. Did all this from safety most of the time. People say you can’t move with the manned turret but I don’t need to because the enemies aren’t attacking me, they’re attacking my teammates and by the time they switch aggro to me, they’re already dead
Yeah man, I posted my arc thrower video before the Railgun nerf and Almost everyone are hating on it.... But little did they know... It's the secret most reliable Support weapon in higher difficulties... Well done man!
This was fun to record with you. I’m definitely looking forward to more. The arc thrower is still my hands down favorite weapon in the entire game. Although we will see if the new Quasar Cannon can take its crown in the future
Ive got a question. As a person who has played and utilised most support weapons even a higher levels. Would you consider the arc thrower "OP". My personal understanding of what Arrowhead considers OP is things that are too versatile with little to no downsides. The arc thrower right now is insane at crowd control of both bugs and bots and is also capable of fairly quickly kill the second tankiest enemies in the the game ie the chargers and hulks. Comparing this with other weapons, laser cannon is almost the same in capabilities but struggles more against chargers, but quite decent on hulks. Flame thrower is faster at killing on bugs but it has much less range and bad for bots. Autocannon has a backpack and slower reload and weaker crowd control. Stalwart not grat for medium armor enemies. Heavy machine gun is weaker against chargers and needs a crouch reload. EAT, recoilless, spear can't do crowd control and recoiless and spear also have backpacks. For further comparison to the previous "OP" weapon the railgun. It used to be the only viable option for dealing with heavy armour enemies at higher difficulties and was powerful against even the heaviest enemies ie tanks and titans. But now after nerf it is "balanced" not as powerful for bugs, but a viable sidegrade to other support weapons while still being great at bots generally. Don't get me wrong. I love where the arc thrower is right now although sometimes a little boring. Although other support weapons are a viable side grade to the arc thrower, right now i feel like it is arguably better than all other support weapons especially if multiple people or even a full squad run it.
The arc thrower definitely has its downsides. It’s borderline unusable at point blank ranges and it does not have nearly the same range the beam and projectile weapons have. It also takes a while to kill the larger heavy armored targets. Although I will see it is definitely the most well rounded weapon in the game as it can reliably deal with almost all threats. Albeit slower than most of the more specialized weapons. It’s a good jack of all trades weapon. Which is why it’s great. It fills a niche that nothing else in the game can fill
For me there is no really OP support weapon, the real thing is You can pick your role through the game with no specific labels...You can do it your own way by supporting teammates and I'd say you can use almost any weapon with a right knowledge how to use it and you're good.. I like this comment man, but for me Arc Thrower is pretty reliable at higher difficulties...
@snappa_tv for close range engagements, I find that just diving and keep shooting works well enough. Although it doesn't have the 200+m that the laser cannon has but it doesn't need it, I'm pretty sure I can snipe enemies from like 70m away without needing the pinpoint accuracy that the laser cannon or autocannon requires. Also for heavy armour targets, chargers are really easy to kill especially with multiple throwers, and the fact that it can reliably kill them from the front is a significant advantage. For example 4 people using autocannons or laser cannons would still need to either shoot a charger in the butt or rear leg or for hulks, both those support would still require significant precision while 4 people arc throwing would melt chargers in an instant, I don't remember how it for hulks tho tbh. Arc thrower can't kill larger targets as fast as like an EAT or even flame thrower but again, eat can't do crowd control and flamethrower has much less range. Imo it's not just a jack of all trades, it's borderline master of all trades

I use the blitzer as my primary with the arc. Anything gets too close to me, I just pull it out ZAP and it pushes them away and blows their heads off most of the time. And its aoe.
It was nerfed so it sucks now and sucks big time in 7+ modes that is suicide mission and above. Bile Titan and spitters will kill you and the autobot shit things
Thats not a nerf imo.i rather have the stagger force over 15m more range and the rof is not that much slower. Like many other i main the arc at lv9 like 90% of time. For one shots vs titans use 500kg and orbital precision strike.goated

I've never managed to actually aim my weapon properly when activating the jetpack. How did you do it?
while charging, hold space to activate the Jump Pack and release when you have clean shot of your main target...

Yes, I was using a blitzer when going for Arc build but for this i just need a knockback to focus on my Arc Thrower... But yeah I like blitzer too!
With no shield or laser guard dog you'll be surrounded in hell mode and killed in seconds.
