I used to work in Rainham in Essex back in the 80's (1983 - 1985). The high-speed rail link did not exist then, and the level crossing was in operation then. I was surprised to see the high-speed rail link in place years later. Been on that link to Ebbsfleet. Fast journey especially between Stratford and Ebbsfleet.
