Phil still sounds great, but let's not forget Uncle Jizzo! Jizzy Pearl is another one from that scene who still sounds absolutely amazing! I know you said "better than most," but it really is a tiny percentage!
I have to say, I used to listen to a few of their tunes back in the day, but I ran across this video and I was blown away with this band! Something about the style and energy they have. I just love it! I should have been into them more than I was. Oh well, I'm old now, but I'm enjoying them more than ever!
Remember borrowing this cassette from a friend in Junior High School 8th grade. Completely different sound then what was on the scene. They sound very good!
Yeah they were popular but then they weren't. They had a particular fan base. Kind of like Cinderella. I knew some that liked them and some who hated them.
L.A. Guns is one of the few (if only) bands from that era who are still playing 100% live (real amps, no backing tracks etc.) and are still just as good now as they were back in the day, but it looks like they're playing in somebody's backyard.
The band Winger is still all the original members and still play concerts. The rock & roll industry wasnt very good to them. They had some great songs and are from this era the 80s.
Because 80's fans are easily pushing towards 60. Were not attending these huge events like we did back then. Our lives are far different than it was being 20.
I'm sure it was a fun time, but you're 100% correct. It's sad seeing other hard rock bands who are drawing thousands who are paying top dollar to watch them mime onstage & a killer band like L.A. Guns who are still just as good live as they ever play play in front of a couple of hundred.
@@MelvinZoopers.... Sometimes smaller crowds are the best because it's just more fun. I just found these guys about a month ago and wish I had found them way earlier. Great songs I've heard here on you tube.
Folks I get it. You need to see these bands for nostalgia. An entire generation of music is leaving us. I saw LA Guns in Austin last year and it was a fun show.
I swear this generation of bands are single handily keeping the black hair dye companies in business 😂 guys, just let it go, we all turn grey eventually... I saw them back in like 89 ish and a tiny club in Brockton Ma they kicked ass, still sound good!
I caught these guys at the Carlsons 50th wedding anniversary at Palmer Woods in 2022. Epic show in front of 30-35 people . Just an FYI , Traci LOVES hot dogs with mustard and sauerkraut .
I’m a long time fan of L.A. Guns and such saw them live a couple time in the last couple years and they are fantastic but come on Phil get rid of that stupid mesh shirt. Sorry 🤷🏻But hey still love the music lol
Love ❤️ these guys! But, c'mon, dying your hair when your an old man makes you look like a fu$king fool! Props to Joe Elliott 👏! Thanks for the content buddy!
I really liked Kiefer during the Cinderella years. At the peak of their career as a band Kiefer blew out his vocal cords, both and it took him a few years and a couple of surgeries to repair the damage. That was the end of Cinderella. His singing is still good but not like it was. Broke my heart when i heard that. I was in my 20s during the 80s. I grew up with 70s bands and 60s & 70s rock music. The 80s was the best years for some of the BEST BANDS ever.
I suppose they are guilty of growing older, yeah shame on them...I guess it could be worse, Phil could have been up there singing gibberish and ballooned into the abominable snow man like Vince, or Tracii could be up there shirtless, with his gut and man-boobs hanging out like Slash...
Phil's voice has held up much better than most of that generation.
For sure!
Phil still sounds great, but let's not forget Uncle Jizzo! Jizzy Pearl is another one from that scene who still sounds absolutely amazing!
I know you said "better than most," but it really is a tiny percentage!
not sure about that outfit though
Yeah he's still kicking ass
Shame hardly anyone knows who they are.
Brings back good memories, thanks for sharing
Awesome ! Phil still has the pipes.
Killing it SHAWN!

Wow! They sound great! 💚🎸
Tracii... one of the most underrated guitarists!! 🤘🤘
I’ve always loved L.A.GUNS❤

Very cool!
Master Guitarist! They all sound Awesome!
Wow! I saw in them in Hagerstown, MD in 1988 when I was 15 with Dirty Looks & The Lost Boys.
Tracii and Phil are on top of their game.
L.A. Guns are the greatest!!! Was an excellent show.
LA Guns keeping in sleazy jammin it like the old school .. Never seen this drummer he did great 🤘🤘🤘
I liked Steve Riley. But a band needs a 🥁 drummer. 😊
This drummer is Shawn Duncan from the band Odin!
Sounds fantastic!!
Remember borrowing this cassette from a friend in Junior High School 8th grade. Completely different sound then what was on the scene. They sound very good!
They sound great and look good
That black see through shirt is an interesting choice for a daytime Ribfest performance.
It was hotter than H*LL, so that's probably why.
Was there it was 95 and humid
@norweigenheat6020 I'm not sure if you were there last year when they opened for Buckcherry, but he wore the same shirt.
Let's a amen to the drummer 🥁 🤘☝️💪👌🙌🤝🙏👍🫶✌️🤟
Love it man you guys are awesome 💯💯👊👊🔥🔥😉😉
Wonderful voice and such a amazing first record.. sounding just as good in 2024
Thanks for this im enjoying watching it here in England 🇬🇧🎙🎶🎼🎵🔫🥰
I'm glad I can spread the love!
@@MelvinZoopers im mates with Philip hes a lovley guy

Dude can still sing. Damn
From an 80's headbanger, that sounded pretty effin good!!!
They are still killing it! Who will bring them back to Europe again? Together with Faster Pussycat 🙏
thanks for sharing!!!they sound great still!not sure why they didnt play (over the edge)!!
They did but I didn't get it. Check out my channel for these guys at the same venue complete show last year - it's on there.
Im late to the LA Guns Party. These guys are fucking unbelievably good at what they do.
They are by far the best of the hair bands that was never huge. I saw them at Limelight in 1992. Great memory.
Yeah they were popular but then they weren't. They had a particular fan base. Kind of like Cinderella. I knew some that liked them and some who hated them.

It probably is a park, a city park

Great show.
Happy to hear Phil still has the pipes and with what he can't sing he compensates. No tracks. Fuckin' A!!
Still kicking ass
Phil is legit. Always was.
How this band doesn't end up opening big tours by other 80's bands is beyond me. They are the only one of them still putting out good music.
Because 80's fans are easily pushing towards 60. Were not attending these huge events like we did back then. Our lives are far different than it was being 20.
And still putting out NEW music too , yay 🥳
.... because they'll put 90% of them to shame.
@Ronniejamesleo perhaps you are unfamiliar with the crue / def lep / poison stadium tour from two years ago . . . Or the one this year 🙄
Sammy Hagar & Loverboy are selling out arenas. I was just at a sold out show. 10,000 + arena.
LA Guns are really good. Seen them around 99.
Solid !!!
These guys r fckn awesome! Still sings great and they r so tight!
The f...kin best out there!!!
They were all a rockin' and a reelin' - rollin' past the break of dawn
They were the best out of that scene. Still sound great.
I been watching their performance for 6 or 7 times, always at night or in-door, never saw a live in daylight
I love this band. They are so much better than playing at a rib fest.
I'm sure it was a fun time, but you're 100% correct. It's sad seeing other hard rock bands who are drawing thousands who are paying top dollar to watch them mime onstage & a killer band like L.A. Guns who are still just as good live as they ever play play in front of a couple of hundred.
@ThundersMcCoy It was a great time but deathly hot. It was a twin bill with Tim Keifer & there probably was 2,000+ there so not too shabby.

Rumor has it that Tracii told Phil no to his initial choice of a cute little one piece.
LOL 😂
They should play First Ave.
I like the bassist‘s little steven? looks 🤘🏼

Great Video... Is that a Yeti in the woods behind em? 🤔
Could be.
LA Fuckin Guns!
Always a good show ,thanks Mel

Haha!
Whatever happened to Kelli Nickels brother Phil who played guitar in 22 Hillside??????
Love these guys, but that outfit and ponytail ain't cuttin it.
I like the look they have in the video of Ballad of Jayne. 😊 and earlier .

@MrFrederickHerbert I STRONGLY disagree with that assessment. Check out their performance in Japan, 1988, they KILLED it!
i thought you were supposed to have muscles to wear muscle shirts? boy was i wrong!
wheres axl
Is that Sammy Hagar wearing a purple fedora on the right?
No that's Tracii Guns
You from the area? I'm down in Fairmont. Looking for a frontman, drummer, and bass player if you know anyone.
Great music, but whoever was running the FOH PA was turning up the bass and drums too loud and not enough guitar and vocals .
Agreed!
I don’t remember Phil acting so gay before like he is here.
Lol it's all show most likely. Afterall they are from L.A. aren't they ?
Hope hes not that way 😏
No dyed beard for me

Joe Elliott abd DL aged well. And all look great still to be in their early 6os
This show was great! Definitely better than Keifer. We left halfway through his first song!
They really knock it out of the park everytime!

Ive seen worse.
Tracii Guns. Purple hat. No.
Ribfest. Why.
Cause Sammy Hagar couldn't make it this year
It's OK to play in front of a couple thousand people isn't it?

I would think so. When you are a band and you are not as popular as you once were you do whatever gig asks or invites you.
