Greetings From Texas.. Great Video !! I Just Had to leave a note.. You Brought Back a lot of Great Memories for Me.. My Family used to spend allot of Camping time at Sterling back in the late 60's & 70's ..... We Would Either be At Sterling or at Green Lake in Chelsea Mi. I was Raised in Taylor Mi... I laughed when You brought up the Raining Season.. There were several times we would having to break camp, Hook up the trailer, and Leave because it was Flooding.. In Those day's, There were 2 Camp Grounds.. They were to the Left as you came in to the Park, The Ranger Station was at the Camping Entrance, You Paid in advance, Received your (Address Card) Then made a left turn into the camping area.. The 1st section was the bigger of the two,, Then the ""Lower"" Section Closer to the ""Swamp"".. They only had electric in those days,, A Dumping Station was up by the Ranger Station,, Was free to use for the Campers... Lots of Great Memories.. Meeting new friends.. Neighbors getting together with "Pot Luck" Resepies.. Sometimes,, 10 or more around Camp Fire,, Most you just met, And may never see again. That didn't matter, We were all there for the Same Reason... Last time I was there was in 1976... What can I Say,, Life Happened..... But I Sure Enjoy Videos like Yours,, That Let me, in a Silly Small Way to Re-Visit All Those Great Memories.. Thank You !!

Greetings! We're glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and for the great comment. We always love hearing about the history of places, how they have changed, or memories that people have when they used to visit with their families growing up. We plan on heading to Texas early next year so we'll be checking out some of your state parks next!

New subscriber here.....really love the detail that you put into your Michigan State Park reviews. I wasn't going to try this one based on some family input but now I do think we will. Nice job including the history on the parks. Love that. Safe travels.

I think the park is really open because there was a fire some time ago. I’ve been there a couple of times. It pays to understand where the sun will be later in the day when you pick your site. Your camper becomes your shade.

Great tip on thinking about sun direction for shade in the afternoon. No trees is great for solar panels but terrible for heat inside the camper. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Glad to hear this -- one reason we do these videos is to inspire people to check out new places. Thanks for watching and commenting. Safe travels to you, as well!

you have to go when it's not too hot and not to cold. the stakes sun themselves on the pavement on the path. I am there a lot and very rarely see them.

Good tip - we figured it would be pretty hit or miss on seeing the snakes. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Just a heads up, if you have to wear a hat and gloves to keep warm, you're not going to see snakes, they are cold blooded. Those folks in the boats were probably walleye fishing, it's that time of year and Lake Erie is a world renowned walleye fishery. Who else would go boating when it's 40 degrees out? Thanks for the videos.

True on the weather temperature! Someone on the trail ahead of us said they did see a snake and helped it across the trail. Why they thought it needed help, who knows? And thanks for the tip about walleye fishing. Good to know! -Ari

Has it changed a lot recently? It may not be for everyone, although no state park is. But if something has changed recently to make the park less enjoyable, we want to know.
