These trains can be stopped remotely. Even for a trial run or any run one needs a password which is generated and shared with loco pilot only after trip start and go ahead from station master. Engineers are not that fool to design an train that cannot tackle misuse of train operation.
All this is fine but Indian railways is inhuman - there is no washroom for crew members and how can you have a cab with no air-conditioning? - when temperatures inside can exceed 50 degrees, I am sure. all this is useless if we are not humane to loco pilots.
Why is the switch of the battery box located outside the cab? It seems to have 2 problems: (1) Needless inconvenience for the locopilot, and (2) Some antisocial element can play naughty and turn off that switch from outside while locopilot is working inside assuming it to be on! What am I missing?
