Congratulations on your baby girl!!! It is a joyful occasion indeed 😊 Thank you for the tutorial, so well explained and shown. I will definitely try this as I love to watch cardinals in my garden, especially when the couple venture out together. They are such "private" birds.
I love cardinals, and am so glad to have a do-able tutorial to follow. So glad all is well with your little one. There is a very high correlation with involved Daddies and the future success of women. :)
I love this, thank you! I'm so excited for another of your wood slices, I had my daddy (he's a woodworker) cut and sand me some ~ thank you also for the bonus of daddy-daughter time. 💜💜💜
I lived in Shreveport, LA for 11 years and they called pine needles pine straw. I love hearing you talk about your baby girl. What is her name? If you can say. My name is Victoria but all my life I’ve wished my name had been Julia. Girl, you got my name! Love this video of the birds. Have a blessed Thanksgiving. I’m trying to come up with a few easy Thanksgiving cards for some special people in my life. Also, for Christmas. I’m not good at all but I enjoy it and as I’m disabled it gives me something to occupy my time. 💜🙏🏻🍂🧡
I like the name pine straw - very suitable. Thank you for the well wishes - here in Canada we had our thanksgiving a month ago :) Happy thanksgiving to you my friend!
Thank you so much again Julia and congratulations on your new daughter. And I am seeing this in the middle of November and it makes me very happy that it's on time for Christmas.

I filmed this last week to be released in January but thought you guys would enjoy it in time for Christmas instead!

You are so welcome!
Super charming.
:)
Always wanted a simple bird for Christmas cards. Thanks and congratulations on your daughter. Time goes by so fast, enjoy every moment.
Thank you so much!
I see myself trying this as my first watercolor paint!! You make it look easy. 😃
You can do it! Don't get discouraged if things don't go your way - watercolor takes time to get used to!
These are beautiful! Thanks so much for the wonderful tutorial.
Congratulations on your new litter girl. Such a wonderful blessing.
Thanks again 🎨😊
Thank you for watching, I hope you give it a try!

I'm glad you like it
wow, amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
Beautiful
Thank you!
These birds are lovely! I’m not sure what you use for the white. Can I use white acrylic for the base color? Thank you for sharing this!
I use watercolor ground but like I mentioned, you can paint this on plain old watercolor paper!
you used a base paint? I haven’t heard of “watercolor ground.” Love these! Fun listening to you talk about your baby…sweet.
Oh these are just way too cute! Are you using watercolor ground on the wood?
Yes I am!
Thank you!
Can I use acrylic white background or is it not a good idea?
You can do anything you'd like! Not sure acrylic paint will bind with watercolor though.
Did you use Gesso for the base layer or did you use Watercolor Base?
Love your simple approach, and it always turns out so good. Thanks
It's called 'watercolor ground' :)
Do you prep your wood slices with acrylic?
No I prep them with watercolor ground
@@JuliaLisArt Thank you for the info.
Just wondering what the white color background is? Acrylic? Watercolor? Thanks
Watercolor ground
How do you prep your wood? I noticed that it's white, did you paint it?
I use watercolor ground as the base
eeally like
