It aches my heart that films such as this one aren't more appreciated by the industry. It's not perfect, but so much potential. Finding a good fantasy film is hard now-a-days, and this just felt fresh. 7.5/10, but only because I would have liked more depth.

I’ve finally watched this movie 5 yrs after its release, and I can’t believe I didn’t watch it then. So freaking good. Loved every minute of it. So well done and the cgi graphics were amazing even now.

I actually like this movie. Would love for a sequel. To be quite honest I'm tired of all these superhero movies or any other generic rehashed stuff. This movie felt fresh too me. Not overly saturated In action and not too over bearing in dialog scenes. It felt like it had a good mixture and the magic felt realistic.

I agree with you... while I am personally not tired of superhero films they are currently rehashing same formula and execution and need something groundbreaking... I see superhero films as a subgenre of fantasy/sci fi so witches, sorcerers, angels, dragons all have great potential to bring something awe inspiring and 80% of the mainstream fantasy movies do not have to be superhero movies and/or Star Wars...

Lydia Xavier Incredible? No, it doesn't. It has potential, but everything about the characters we've seen so far is fucking boring and generic. If all you need in a movie is special effects, then fine- you probably loved Seventh Son as well- it looks exactly like that film, right down to the three primary characters- the grizzled vet with a tragic past, the apprentice, and the love interest traitor to her own kind.

This movie has everything: guns, swords, witchcraft, fire, fast cars, badass Vin Diesel, the good ol' Michael Caine, Rose Leslie, Elija Wood - and a trailer that's not already telling us the whole plot of the movie - looks kind of promising.

I like it. Kinda reminds me of Constantine (the show and the movie) which to me, are both underrated.

fuck it. I liked it. There's an easy to understand story with some cool set and costume designs, bad ass fight scenes and a immensly likable cast. It's simple but not dumb.
And for those just not liking Vin Diesel in general: Watch one interview with him and change your mind.

I swear the era of 2010's was a Golden era for CGI based Fiction/Adventurous Genre!!! Vin Diesel performance was Voice award winning here. His voice was so perfect for Witch Hunter especially when he said *"By Iron & Fire"* Total goosebumps & Ygritte always play characters where dreamwalkers involved and Frodo always play character where an Evil Insect Involved lol. btw watching Frodo as villain kinda weird.

this was good enough to deserve a sequel!
So I just gave this movie a recent rewatch and honestly, in recent years, this movie felt like the only Vin Diesel movie where it doesn’t feel like he’s still just playing himself. It’s still very much him but it genuinely felt like he was playing a character. And I don’t count the marvel movies he’s been in because that’s just his voice. You look at the state of the Fast movies and that last xXx Movie and even the piss-poor attempt of Bloodshot and it’s still just Vin Diesel playing as himself under a new name. But this movie felt like he wasn’t just playing himself but actually as someone else.

This is actually a sequel to Return of the King. Frodo and Gandalf sail West and Find America. Their relationship eventually sours and Frodo joins up with Vin Diesel to hunt all witches and wizards. Galadriel gets it first.

So many people don’t realize that the main purpose of this movie is to turn Vin Deisel’s childhood D&D character into a movie. Sure it’s full of fantasy tropes and stereotypes we have already seen. But what’s important is that this is for Vin Deisel even more so than us viewers I think. At least thats how I view it.
