Jason idea for the new lowleaf back scenic station. Instend of a passenger station, make it a 'good station'. This means on the road & track entry to the station, instead of having blank black, you can have large doors. One on the road entry and one on the track entry. This add a bonus the track entry being just sidings. This gives a reason why you don't see many trains coming out much. You can just pose some wagons on the top. Even a shunter. On the corse of a day at exhibition, you can swapout the rolling stock. This give the impression the wagons have been shunted around. The style of the station makes look more for goods any kind of looks that way anyhow

That worked out well Jason, especially impressed with the "Fogged" backecene - really gives it that industrial feel!

Fabulous layout built! Great track plan and use of vertical space. Your "one-dimensional" station and canopy idea was spot on. Grey city background looks good. You are more than "one-dimensional" for sure, at least two! Great modelling, thanks for sharing.

Lovely layout, and I really like how you made your fiddle yard. AND the additional scene you've made here really completes the effect. Blessings from the USA! 😌💜

Great layout. I could never do detail like that. I'm working on canal wharf layout in a box file at the moment. Keeping it simple.

Turning a fishing trawler in a cargo vessel That is what happens if the manufacturer doesn't offer a proper cargo ship. I have mixed feelings but I have to admit that the result is nice. Have a nice Christmas holiday and a happy new year.

Thanks for watching Jef, She does sit pretty low in the water, it would have been a record catch if I'd stuck with the trawler!! Have a great one yourself.

@@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy3394 I found it a fairly easy kit-bash to shorten the hull and add a more appropriate cargo superstructure.
Must also add my compliments on a lovely layout with some original ideas.

Really nice layout. Can I ask what brand(s) of embossed plasticard you use for your buildings? They all looks really good.

Thank you. In fairness I don't know what make the plasticard is as I buy it unpackaged in individual sheets from my local hobby store. Sorry I can't confirm the manufacturer.

That's looking good buddy, the transition from 3D to 2D has worked really well, especially as you're so tight on space. I favour various view blocking techniques but I think your cityscape really helps with the transition.
Can I ask what materials did you use for the fiddle yard please. I'm contemplating a micro layout that's even more brief than the tuning fork micro - in O gauge - that I have, just to have somewhere, in the warm, to run a few vans then flat pack it away or pop it on a narrow shelf that I have.
    Thanks in advance ✌️👍😊

Hi Mate, Thanks for your kind words. The fiddle yard is made of foam board. We have a lot of signage at my work made from this and it often ends up on my railways and dioramas!!

@@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy3394 i know mate not taking the piss just thought id pass on the comment i live in a fishing town in the UK and they are what they use here for fishing, that said i was looking for a coal vessel for my set up searched everywhere for one, never thought of converting a trawler to a coal scuttle, the only thing i could add is if you take the rear side canopy arms of the crew cabin area it would look more authentic as a coal boat, love your setups by the way🤗

@@davidstorm8879 Don’t worry mate. I know where you’re coming from. My late father was ex Merchant Navy and he would have been appalled by my conversion! I bought the kit originally to convert it to a WW2 armed trawler to moore alongside a 1/144 corvette I’ve yet to build. That will be built for another layout as The Compass Rose, the Corvette in the movie ‘The Cruel Sea’ Dad’s favourite war film. Don’t hold your breath though that is a few builds down the line!!!!

Snorkers! Good Oh! Side trawler converted to collier! As MN you might want to add a port of registry to the stern ( maybe Hull or Grimsby to keep with the vessels background?) and maybe some additional mooring lines just to make it that touch more realistic? Great model and given me plenty of inspiration!
