I used freetimes almost exclusively after trying out several kinds. For troubleshooting some of the things you mentioned: you can put the snaps in at different points. Usually, I would do the top row a snap in from the bottom row. I also found way better absorbency by folding the top flap in half towards the front. (So it's like the front has 4 layers.) My daughter was a heavy wetter, and it would usually last about 3 hours. I eventually added a flour sack towel in at night. The upside about how the inserts are sewn is that they hang dry faster. But, you're right, it is a little tricky to spray. I think we ended up getting used to a routine of how to spray it, so it didn't bother me too much. And we used a utility sink, which made it easier.
Honestly, my biggest gripe is that it's ALL microfiber, so I feel like compression leaks would occur easily if she wore pants. I've been having a hard time finding a diaper I like more is my problem. I'm on the hunt for ones to try for my second baby. They held up for 3 years of full-time use. No stinks, stains, hardly any wear. Other diapers I've tried seem to go downhill faster and leaked more. (Minus the elastics wearing out on bg freetimes.. which wasn't a big deal as she got bigger.) Now it's problem starting with a new baby. I would have to replace the elastics.
I'm on the lookout for a very similar diaper, but maybe a hemp/bamboo insert under a stay dry liner. In reviews, all the ones I've found that fit this criteria, the diapers seem to get worn down quicker. So, I guess I'll have to do some trial and error.
You did get me thinking, I wonder if people end up having differing opinions on diapers because of figuring out different ways to use them!

Wow! Thank you for for such an in-depth comment! Months after recording this video, I realized the flaps could be folded 🥴, which definitely changes my opinion (for the better) on these diapers. It’s so true that everyone has different experiences with what they prefer and I, like you, still haven’t found the “perfect” diaper.

A friend gave me a few of these cloth diapers and I don't know how I feel about it being all in one. My baby isn't born yet so I haven't gotten to test it out yet but I feel like I like the other kind of diaper she gave me instead. It isn't quite a pocket diaper, more of just a cover that you can add inserts inside of and it holds itself in place. I feel like this just makes the wet bag less bulky and that it is easier to fill the diaper bag with inserts than just full on diapers. However we will see what happens, if I end up not enjoying the all in one style of this diaper I can just modify it myself and buy more of the inserts I want to use. I'm not going to complain about free diapers.

You’re definitely fortunate to get some free diapers!! Everyone has different preferences when it comes to cloth diapers. I hope you like them 😊
