I bought Evening Star when I was 18. I'd heard of Eno, & Fripp was on "Heroes" & I was drawn to the cover of this more than No Pussyfooting. Loved this track from the moment of hearing it & then found King Crimson....... Can't get enough, still....
Performed by an ensemble like this one grasps new perspectives on the piece. One of them is how Fripp's solo, now through a cello, demonstrates what a great improviser he is. The overall mood of the piece translates perfectly. As beautiful a piece of music as you would ever want for a warm summer day.
Oh? Ummm... Beautiful. While looking for the original, this orchestra's breathtaking rendition was stumbled upon. A joy to have stumbled upon this and thank you for sharing it.
this is one of my favorite, life changing pieces of music of all time. I was 14 when I first heard no pussyfooting and was hooked on ambient type music, then this came out and WOW! I also loved my life in the book of ghosts also. This is a lovely rendition of this great song!
It reminds me a lot of subterraneans etc “ low” with Bowie in the Berlin days ,a beautifully emotional piece for me, it will always leave a feeling of the mid 70’s and a haunting shiver of beauty every time I hear this!
This is brilliant! Also, it really makes you realise what a good job Fripp did of making his guitar sound like a cello. They're almost indistinguishable sometimes!
Wow! No Way! How great that you all decided to do this! Beautiful! (I always thought Fripp was a cello player at heart.) I just love this piece, and you guys did it so well.
+james ross - i love this piece so much, my fave guitar solo of bob fripp, and i always thought, fripp´s guitar sounded like... well, i didn´t get it - of course like a cello, now i know, haha - this is wonderful... :_) greetings from germany
WOW, WOW, WOW. That is just fabulous! I bought the album when it first came out. Never, in all these years would I have experienced this. Of course I'm not a musician; but if the original could be tabulated, then here we are! Thanks for posting.
Just gorgeous!!! Love this kind of music! I highly recommend "moments of isolation" by future sound of london, sits nicely next to this lovely piece! Fab animated video too!
This really is something special to hear! I’ve always loved eno and fripp and it’s a real pleasure to hear real instruments playing what can be said to be system music - electronically treated tones generated and put through electronic delays. It presents the music as an organic human piece but just as effective in what it conveys. Beautiful
Endeavours such as this and the Wine of Silence project are such logical extensions of this and other Fripp (& Eno) looping efforts and the organic acoustic element only enhances this fine music.

Play this at my funeral. Thanks
I was just thinking the same.......

One more comment... Robert and Brian need to hear this. Really. I think they would love it.
How beautifull
this piece changed my life when I was 15 and my way of painting

Simply beautiful! I still have the album with this track…but no turntable ;]
Wonderful. Never thought Fripp & Eno compositions could be translated to acoustic instruments at all, let alone this perfectly.
Beautiful!

that's probably fripp himself
I agree. Mega fab song.
Robert Cannon I was same age when I listened too that..in my fifty's and still love it all.. :)
I dont get it, I just paid 40 bucks for evening star and I feel like I was duped, what am I not hearing?
This piece is pretty faithful to the original Fripp and Eno one. Bravo

i was looking for the original record... and i found this masterpiece. thanks for the upload.
Have you managed to find it

I'd no idea this existed. Thank you so much.

Perhaps David Cross has as much influence on Robert Fripp as Robin Trower?

What a fantastically interesting choice for an ensemble!
Just as good as fripp and eno...who would have thought it !
Beautiful beyond words. Thank you.
A subtle and sympathetic rendering of the original but one that also opens up the sonic palette of this beautiful piece. Very well done. Cheers!

Превосходно!
Thank you.
Just like I watch the last light of day turn to night...
eccellente ...

This is beautiful. I prefer it to the version that Fripp and Eno did in 1975.
Very interesting rendering.
What does R. Fripp about this excellent rendition of one his masterpieces ?
Love this, fantastic musicianship. Just a shame that the camera angles don't allow us to see all of the musicians.
I enjoyed this!
Interesting how you played live what Fripp & Eno did with tape.
Hey .... Lava you
Bravo.
Now all someone has to do is get a group together to do "Discreet Music"
❤️
Do you have any sheets of this piece?
TASTY!!!
🥀💙😃
I've posted on this before and keep coming back again and again. Did these guy's do anymore video like this? How do I find it?
2 words: De-Interlace. ..I mean 1 word: De-Interlace.

Way cool! Great cover. I'll have to go back to my well - worn Lp for another listen. Who transcribed this?
Koichi Hirata trash music is first in the world of electronic music.
平田幸一のトラッシュミュージックは、全てのエレクトロニクス音楽の最初の一歩だったんだ。
Hell o. Àlec
HERMOSO TE GANASTE 1200 ug ! jajJAJ
I find these strings more empathetic to the piece than Fripps original lead tone.
who is playing?
A beautiful rendition, but why does everyone but the guitarist look like they hate playing this?
これもとうぜんもっている❗
You should say in your title that this is a cover.
Isn't it obvious?
makes me question my atheism
