      It fishes well James, lots of moment and really slims down like a natural leech when wet.
      Cheers, Phil

    Thanks, looks like something that a walleye would like to eat as well!

      I am sure they would. I haven't tried them yet for walleye. I do well with balanced leeches and minnows for walleye both under an indicator and fished a foot off the bottom using a fast sinking line suspended vertically. A chironomid technique we call dangling.
      Cheers, Phil

      @@PhilRowleyFlyFishing yeah I'll have to try if I make it out this summer. I watched Rod's video with kitty and you out on Wabamun. Looks like something that I could give a try. Something different then the usual lure chucking.

    Nice video as always, great simple killer looking fly. Always interesting to see other patterns that anglers use along way over the the other side of the Atlantic! Sure this fly will be just as effective on the wild brown trout of Scotland where I'm from. 👍

      Thanks, I am glad you enjoyed the video. I hope it works for you in Scotland. I know many UK patterns work very well over here.
      Thanks, Phil

      Deb Paskall Thanks Deb. It’s simple to tie and catches fish. A couple of my favourite qualities in a fly.

    Hey Phil how’s the fishing in Manitoba

    • @PhilRowleyFlyFishing
      @PhilRowleyFlyFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Allen, I didn't go to Manitoba this spring. Some of the lakes we used to visit are going through some tough times. Hopefully they can return to their former selves.
      Cheers, Phil

    Another excellent pattern, Phil. Going to get two of those tied up before tomorrow evening's outing. I've some black Schlappen that I will pair with the copper materials.

      Thanks Chuck, you could also use some of the Ice Blue Pearl Flashabou or Holographic Red with black too. Lots of combinations to play with on this pattern.
      Let me know how you do. Thanks, Phil

      @@PhilRowleyFlyFishing: following up on this pattern. On one of our local lakes with trout, in nearly gin-clear conditions by North Dakota standards, I found holdovers from last year 14 feet down that gobbled the Feather Leech down readily.
      The breezy conditions gave the pattern a lot of life, no doubt. Thanks for sharing it with us.
