  • Validating a business idea is a concept that's greatly misunderstood. And even if you get it, it's still very hard to pull off.
    In particular, there's one thing most founders forget to take into account!
    In this video, I'll show you how I approach validating winning SaaS ideas in 3 simple steps.

    Perfectly timed video 🚀 Was looking for an updated video on SaaS Validation from you. Also curious why you don't post these videos on your main channel?

    • @SimonHoibergExplains
      @SimonHoibergExplains  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm happy to hear that 😁
      My main channel has a lot of subscribers who are interested in No Code and AI (and of course, also SaaS). However, I've found that this new channel better targets users who are more into the SaaS/Business part, which is why these videos that are a little more practical and less "shiny" fits better here 😊

    Hi Simon, how long should that validation take?

    • @SimonHoibergExplains
      @SimonHoibergExplains  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I think it highly depends on the complexity of your product, but if it is indeed one of those small, frequent (bootstrap friendly) products, then I would say 2 weeks - 1 month. Maybe a little longer in some cases.

    Would you need to validate an idea like a job board for a specific niche? We know job boards are always needed and if one job board for a niche does it better then general ones it will build traction without validation surely?
    I know it's not much of an app but it's an example of a legit software business.

      Yes, I think you always need to (at least try) to validate it.
      If there's already a very mature market, it might be tempted to tell yourself "the need is already validated" - but then you need to validate that there's still room for your product in the market. It's a diffirent type of validation, but you still need it.

    Hi Simon, I am trying to validate an idea but I can't get ANY companies to respond to my emails...I have no way to talk to potential customers. How do I get talking to businesses? I feel like all my emails go to spam folder or just ignored. I use all the typical email templates etc but literally nothing.

      Try tweaking the messaging, or try another channel altogether.
      Personally, I think content on public social media and forums are better because it invites discussion.
      Also, cold emails are tough. People get so many of them these days.

      @@SimonHoibergExplains I guess that makes sense for B2C products but how do I actually talk to businesses on social media? linkedin doesn't seem to work either and businesses aren't just on reddit

      @SacredCASHcow I think you'd be surprised hos many business owners/CEOs/decision makers hang out on social media just like everyone else 😁

    How would you deal with asking for a pre-launch commitment if your SaaS is likely to have metered billing or transaction-based pricing?
    I am a bit concerned how to pre-sell something that doesn’t have a monthly price or so.
    Curious to hear your thoughts.

      I have an idea. You can introduce a credit system, and offer them to buy credits for a discounted price

    • @SimonHoibergExplains
      @SimonHoibergExplains  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's a very good question!
      As others suggest, I also think I would offer a fixed amount of credits initially, and try to communicate (as clearly as possible) what the initial user will get for that credit.

      @@SimonHoibergExplains I was hoping for some message in the end saying that this is a sign that you should pursue it. Instead, it was a "there is still no guarantee" message ahaha. Good advice, though
