Hey No Edit Andy, nice video! I agree with everything you said, I hate seeing the game I love die. I'm a hardcore player with 1685 main 1660 and 1640 alts, legit player no rmt. I've been helping ppl for a long time now but the most insane story is how I met one of my best friends; I met this guy logging when he was a Mokoko around 1 year ago, really strange experience, I helped him on every single raid till the point he cleared aegir normal 2 days ago and I couldn't be happier. I'll always try to help out ppl who are a bit behind or gatekept but I really hate seeing ppl at my ilvl being so frustrated with themselves that they have to gatekeep everything even guardian raids making the game impossible to play for the few remaining ones. these people are real and im their friend irl, they gatekeep me too (unless i come with sup or juiced char) in guardian and only take over ilvl or juiced ppl, their mindset are "why should i carry while i can be carried if im the lobby's master", heck, this people dont even know how to sidereals and pass the lead to random ppl, forget about sidereal, they dont even know how to properly cut elixir and transcend.

Love this video! As someone who is a returning player and suffers from gatekeeping daily despite having spent hours grinding away the game to catch up...I always remember the people who are nice enough to take me into the raid and simply play.
The problem is 2 sided, the bussers don't want to spend time to teach mokokos, and mokokos don't want to spend time to learn the raid. I'll take a bunch of new players in a exp run and they expect to get carried, but the wipe mech prevents it. I'll stop and try to explain it to them but they don't listen. After 2 wipes they leave and try to get someone else to carry them.
oof I know some people do that but theres always a few bad apples that ruin it. Most of my helping was a very positive experience with people actually willing to learn from discord call outs
I’ve just started the game a few days ago and I am absolutely loving this game it’s one of the first mmos I’ve actually liked but being new and watching many videos all I hear is complaints about late game and the playerbase so I’m kinda put of ever trying too get into the late game but hopefully at some point the community as a whole is as inclusive and thoughtful as you❤👏🏾

There's nothing wrong with doing better and helping out fledgling players in games. It's okay if you want to cherry pick people for your first few runs, so you can get mechs down and such, but always remember you can spare a run or 2 to help out new players as well. I don't know how many raids I've done(Outside of LoA, I'm still newish here) in other games with new players. Of course there were times when I cherry picked people to complete it, but after the first 3~5 runs I was starting to teach others. My mentallity was wanting more people to play with. Sometimes I'd make a few more people to play with, sometimes I'd never see them again. I had fun though in the end, especially if something wild happened and got a laugh out of it. A good example for how I approach things would be like with Monster Hunter Wilds when it comes out in a few months. I'll be that guy who gets the story done within a few weeks and grinds gear. Then I'll do a combination of climbing ranks, while also joining low rank parties to make their runs smoother. It'll be a win-win. I get to get better experience with monsters I haven't faced before and mats, they get an easier clear. I might even get an additional person or 2 to play with, it all works for the better, and hopefully encourages them to do the same. That mentality can translate to most if not all games where the goal is teamwork. We got this guys, lets do better together.

Dude was defending the solo gold nerf in discord the hardest when people complained about it .Obviously people like that need to go touch grass and get fked sometime 😂 What you said about the vet help the mokoko made a lot of sesne however at this stage , I fully belive this game is already donezo. Aegir has seen severe sup shortage, steam chart revenue by week and ccu has been going down not go up for such an important event like T4 released. I am pretty sure to you that majority of vet will buss or speed run their alt account in this mokoko event , since they have 18 other raids to do especially Aegir 2nd week, no one will spend upward 4-20 hours to teach a raid to newbie, I spoke from my experience before when a new raid released , most discord teaching lobby halt for a while except prog new raid group. Given the nature of this game is p2w and most people left are heavily addicted, plus newbie even after a few learning lobby still face a massive wall of card , roster, elixir , trans , gems …. nothing will change in the grand scheme, enjoy it while it last i suppose.
Been helping in random prog lobby for a few months. I only have 4 characters. All of them has almost the same name and same outfit (blue mokoko skin). Every once in a while i do dailies, some ppl recognize me and thanks me for helping them. Little things like that keep me playing and help others more if i can
@@NoEditAndyI used to be one of those end gamers in maplestory helping others 🤣 Honestly I came back to lost ark a month ago (left around brel) and having a blast, yeah gatekeeping is real but the community got so much better! I've finished progging Echidna, Behemoth and Aegir and 90% of these parties were really nice. Just need to remember it is still a community game, give back a little 😊
Mokoko Boot Camp ain't gonna solve the issue when they're too cheap to even meet mokokos halfway by giving them LOS18 - forget LOS 30 cuz that's not gonna happen anytime soon. There’s a new card set for Brel v.2 lol. What I don't like with events like Mokoko Boot Camp is the onus now shifts from devs to the players. It's not the players job to keep the game alive. Will we do the mokoko boot camp? Probably not. But, when we do need to use party finder, we also DO NOT gate keep based on nonsense like roster level, don't care if you have event gems, don't even care if you have LOS30. Now if you have rainbow stats for 1640+ content; yeah we'll gate keep you and laugh at you. And to be honest, Lost Ark is still fun but if the game reaches end of service; we move on. Don't really care if Lost Ark dies. Games like these die. Not gonna miss the game or regret the time and money spent. It's not the player's job to prevent the game from dying when the developers are so tone deaf. Lol Mokoko Boot Camp dafuq outta here. DO BETTER Smilegate and AGS. I would suggest building up your character a bit before transferring because the ignite server gold doesn't transfer. You will be undergeared and thrown into the wolves. But that really all depends on how many people leave ignite. If the ignite population is dead, then you can transfer. And like the comment says, only 1 char
These poeple don't realise you don't keep your stuff when the game eos. They somehow think it's not a possibilitiy even though JP closed servers, Russia is on the brink and the western region's average player count drops every single patch.
Maplestory 2 died dis way in less then 2 months. in the end there was only 100 players left in endgame. and 3m people quited the game bc of gatekeeping. every day the layt the standard higher. first it was you must have a +11 to join, next day a +12 then a 13 then a 14 and then a 15. the problem was. it was the only raid where you get the items to upgrade your weapon to +11 to 15 XD so in the end dis selfish players silo them self in there own endgame raid. and NEXUS just shutdown the server and made all there effort and selfish behavior wortless.
Wonder how they change the mokoko leaf since that ends at 1580 with the current system. Also what happens when there are not enough new people to bus uhm I mean help... Imagine the complaining about " I can't get this because there are no people to help"
The other dumb thing other than roster level, LOS30, titles and etc used for gatekeeping is the mechs itself. Mechs? OK fine. But, when you're overleveled and juiced, some if not most can't be really bypassed in non-relevant content. Asian MMO's being introduced to the west is just a cash grab. It either dies out or becomes niche. Not dooming or hating as I'm still having fun with the game with friends (key word here). It's just the gaming culture of East vs West is different plus most of the issues really do lie on developer side as a cause and effect.

The responsibility lies with the developer because you can't assume that such a large number of players will simply adapt and become "nicer" towards others. After all, people love to complain and project their own mistakes onto others. Unfortunately, this is how humans behave and it can only be compensated for by the developer. SG can do this by structuring Lost Ark more for the general casual crowd. The thing that bothers me the most is that it would actually be very easy. Make the normal mode more like a DPS check without wipe mechs through which everyone can be carried easily and the hard mode for those who sweat with special reward. Apart from that, there is more, but hardly any work has been done on it yet. That's why I think there's no interest from SG in that at all. Great videos btw but since the last days where so annoying i needed a break from LA content xD
If you don't like being at the mercy of others then make your own party not much else to say here. This mokoko boot camp won't solve anything about gatekeeping. 7c1 will become common for a bit so vets can earn those new tokens, but as for teaching the new player in most cases I doubt it will happen.

The responsibility lies with the developer because you can't assume that such a large number of players will simply adapt and become "nicer" towards others. After all, people love to complain and project their own mistakes onto others. Unfortunately, this is how humans behave and it can only be compensated for by the developer. SG can do this by structuring Lost Ark more for the general casual crowd. The thing that bothers me the most is that it would actually be very easy. Make the normal mode more like a DPS check without wipe mechs through which everyone can be carried easily and the hard mode for those who sweat with special reward. Apart from that, there is more, but hardly any work has been done on it yet. That's why I think there's no interest from SG in that at all. Great videos btw but since the last days where so annoying i needed a break from LA content xD

If you don't like being at the mercy of others then make your own party not much else to say here. This mokoko boot camp won't solve anything about gatekeeping. 7c1 will become common for a bit so vets can earn those new tokens, but as for teaching the new player in most cases I doubt it will happen.

I don't know. This kind of video just makes it seems like you are salty. You know what kind of game you play. The gatekeeping standard will always move further up with new systems and tiers. Imagine hosting a lobby. You have 10 dps that apply. 9 off them have t4 gems and you with t3 gems. Ofc they take the one with t4 gem. Even its easily clearable with t3 gems ofc. I think its unfair to blame the players here when its clearly the design issue of the game. Since SG wants you to continue chasing the carrot on the stick so you swipe or keep on the grind.
