    I enjoyed watching this video and recommend others.
    Host demonstrate how to Create Cascade Parameters and which is an important feature in report writing.
    Thanks for educating the community and appreciate your volunteership.
    Thanks a bunch

    Thank you for your very informative videos. They have been very helpful to me. I have question...How do you select all the values in a cascading parameter? For example, once you select your Region parameter, is it possible to have all of the Countries in the Country parameter selected? I can do it initially using default values but once I change the main parameter, the sub parameter does not select All.

    I LOVE this so much! Do you have one with column from multiple tables? I need Projects Types from one table and then subcategories from four other tables. I have tried a UNION and it's not working and I cannot use a join because some tables have 42 rows and others have 220 rows, and I need two columns from one table but then three columns from another table.
    Maybe this takes more than just SQL and SSRS? I know one thing I wanted to do for this project I scrapped because it took HTML and that's not part of this project. ?? help please!?

    Hi Aamir, I have been watching your SSIS and SSRS videos man. I like your teaching style, you explain the concepts very clearly and it's easy to understand. Thanks a million.
    I have a question, how can we give table column names as parameter values and then for the next parameter which is a cascading parameter the values will be the records in the column we chose in the previous parameter?

      +Leonard Mbah Acha I read your message last night, was thinking about it. It will be not a big deal to have a parameter with Table column Names and the next one with values for that column. I am thinking about final Dataset to which we need to provide these values. What could be the requirement or final output we need to show. Can you please explain little more details and I will try to brain storm. It would be interesting requirement though. Thanks for contacting us and kind words.

      +TechBrothersIT Let's say for example we have a table with customer information such as Name, Address, Age, Marital Status, Race, Sex (these are the table column names) etc. We have a report to display this information and we have to create two parameters; one parameter will have values Age, Marital Status, Race, Sex and then the other will be a cascading parameter so that lets say we choose Marital Status in the first parameter, then the cascading parameter values will only be different marital status such as single, married, divorced etc. If we choose Sex in the first parameter then the second cascading parameter values will only be Male, Female. I hope the scenario is clearer now. I'm looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks

      I got that part, but I am talking about Main Query that will be used to display data on Report. How that DataSet will use these both parameter values?

      +TechBrothersIT That's what I'm trying to figure out, how to come up with the dataset query. The only query I can come up with now is
      Select Age, MaritalStatus, Race, Sex
      From Customer
      Where Age IN (@Demographic)
      OR MaritalStatus IN (@Demographic)
      OR Race IN (@Demographic)
      OR Sex IN (@Demographic)
      @Demographic is the parameter.
      I don't know how to come up with the other parameter and the query and was wondering if you had any idea how to do it. Thanks

      Just final things from you.
      So lets say If in ColumnName Parameter , I choose Sex, then in CaseCase it should show me Male and Female. I should be able to choose Male or Femail or Both of them. Right?
      Once I choose them, the values I would like to display should be like this. I am putting Query, Don't worry about how to use parameter at this point.
      Select * From dbo.Customer
      Where Sex in (',Male,'Female')
      If I chose other columne such as Age my query should be something like this
      Select * From dbo.Customer
      Where Age in (20,30)

    Hi sir
    Cant we use a single dataset for region and states

    • @TechBrothersIT
      @TechBrothersIT  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is possible. depends upon scenario. you can get everything and then use filter

    Hello , I did the same way as you have mentioned, but I am getting the error saying "Must declare the scalar variable @parametername". Please let me know how to resolve this error. Thank you

    13:30 If we use Country=@CountryName we will get an error if we select multiple countries in preview.
    Instead we can use Country IN (@CountryName) Then only we can select more than one country.
