    Wow, what a phenomenal race! Both amazed and grateful that I made it two days without having the result spoiled so I could enjoy it here. It really seems like the drivers are learning when they should and shouldn’t block, and it made for some smart pack racing. Would love to see super speedway racing keep going in this direction.
    And let’s go Chase! Sound that sireen! 🚨

      It Daytona and now Atlanta are what racing actually is - superdraft combat, unlimited repassing. The Indianapolis 500 and the Modifieds at New Hampshire are also superdraft racing albeit they’re drafting dive bomb passing due to flat corners. Superdraft competition is what all racing needs

    Am I the only one tired of the forced narratives pushed by the reporters in the driver interviews? It seems that they have become even more forced on NBC's networks this season. Maybe it's just new reporters learning on the job, but it appears even the drivers are becoming weary of reporters trying to put words in their mouths.

    Maybe they should try some tires that are more narrow which would slow the cars down some (maybe not at dega but everywhere else) and make handling and driver control more important. This might make for better racing, safer for the drivers, and you wouldn't need a maximum HP engine if you can't use the extra HP. Driver safety and on the track action would increase which increases the amount of viewers and fans @ the tracks.
    However... I fear that ///Nascar wants their cars to be overly impressive on the track with high speeds over the concerns for safety and the limits of the human body to sustain in a crash.

    @nascar/ what about doing a restricted plate racing at Indianapolis!

  • @tedzehnder961
    @tedzehnder961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    They should have a "Push to Pass" function like Indy Car does to help separation for these types of races.Or get rid of the restrictor plate racing and let "Inovation" break up the pack racing.When they race this close together you are asking for wrecks that makes this more dangerous than higher speeds.

    I hate to say it, but nascar and Goodyear need to step up in regards to the driver injuries. Even if it is because the setups are too aggressive, in my opinion, it is the race teams job to go fast, and the governing body's job to keep the races safe. Implement a rule on minimum ride height. I mean this year we've seen more than a few drivers withdraw due to injuries sustained in races. Did we even have one last year. The last one I remember is Ryan Newman's Daytona crash. And that was a racing incident. I'm tired of seeing drivers end up body slamming the wall 2 or 3 times a race because tires are blowing out. 11+ cautions due to incident at Texas and almost all of them were tire failures. In my opinion that is a failure on the part of the governing body and the tire manufacturer in every regard. The last time we were seeing tire failures like this was the Hoosier×Goodyear nascar feud. Nascar did the right thing then and killed the feud to keep people safe. Hoping they'll do the right thing now and put their foot down.
