They did SO MUCH comedy and SO MUCH writing and the show was so consistently FUNNY. It still amazes me.

Howard most physical of actors in this sketch. He was thrown around a lot in other sketches. Thank you.

Thank you! I love Sid and his band of intelligent wackos, and have been looking for a channel to share with the younger set!

Great! Please spread the word. As a member of the "older set," I just recently discovered Sid and his band myself! --kjh

It's nice to see that we're finally getting some comments on the videos. . . but the level of viewership of this all time classic material, most of which is very rare, remains shockingly low! [wgw]

Paul Douglas was a very likeable and versatile performer (and I, for one, wish he HAD repeated his role in BORN YESTERDAY in the 1950 film). It's a revelation seeing his fine turn here, as I've never seen Sid & Co. do a sketch with a guest star. 'Loved the way he joined in as Howie is reduced to a human rag doll. Not the most inspired of YSOS bits, but it had me breaking up throughout, so who's complaining?
    Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome! Make that two of us that wish he had been in the film. Broderick Crawford as Willie Stark, yes; as Harry Brock, not so much. I *think* this is the only guest star turn on YSOS that can be seen on video, but, as I mentioned in the description, there were a number of them. One of the best, oddly enough, was Rex Harrison's! --kjh

Sid Caesar: Your Show of Shows / Caesar's Hour / Admiral Broadway Revue. How about Charlton Heston's excellent turn at pantomime in "A Rich Man's Joke"? By the way I'd just love to see Rex Harrison clowning around with the gang - anyone fortunate enough to see him falling all over himself in the hilarious film "Unfaithfully Yours" would realize that he was a brilliant comic actor.

firefly1933. Two of my ultra-favorite Paul Douglas performances were in the films "Letter To Three Wives" and "Fourteen Hours". A superb actor with talent and likeability galore. Luckily he did appear with Judy Holiday in one film, "The Solid Gold Cadillac".

Yes, and I also forgot Dennis King's turn on the video that was just posted about the garbage dispute! [head-slap] Glad to find another fan of "Unfaithfully Yours," one of the funniest movies I've ever seen--and you're right, he was brilliant in it.

Carl Reiner shows again just how versatile he was, the man could play any part he had to...While Sid was obviously the overwhelming main attraction, Carl was such an invaluable addition to the cast...even if he had not gone on to further success with the Dick Van Dyke Show and all the Steve Martin movies...his work on YSOS and C/H alone would have made him memorable....

Howard Morris took some beatings. He was seriously injured at least once! Hilarious!

One source I found online lists Paul Douglas's appearance on 4/18/53.
