    As someone new to airsoft but has been racing R/C cars for years I find it a little funny that Lipos are a newer concept here. Most RC cars are running 5000mah to 8000mah 2 cell (7.4v) lipos. As someone who has used lipo batteries for 10+ years they aren't as picky as people claim. I only balance charge my batteries once a week, and just charge them normally between races 3-4 times a night. I leave them discharged between 1/4 and 1/2 charge and haven't had an issue yet.
    Just keep them from undercharge/overcharge and relatively in balance and you'll be fine.

    Lipos can be finicky but if you take care of them then they will take care of you on the airsoft field. Let's say you have a 1300 mAh 3s battery 11.1V. Fully charged is at 4.2 per cell. Storage is 3.8 per cell. You want to charge the lipo at 1c and no more than 2c. If you change at 3c or above that then it could create a lipo fire and burn down your house. Lol for fun right? 1c is at 1.3A for 1300 mAh lipo battery. 2c is at 2.6A for 1300mAh lipo battery. Do not let your battery discharge below 3.4 per cell it can destroy the battery.
    Great videos! Keep them up!

    Also a small tip, lipo's have a chance to explode and be set on fire when used wrong. So dont charge it near flamable stuff to be safe. Also when your lipo looks fatter than normal, dispose of it. Look up online how to do it.

  • @mikemegadeth4110
    @mikemegadeth4110 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    A full charge can work yes, but ideally you want 3.8 volts per cell. So with my 2 cell 7.4 lipos I store them at (3.8v × 2cells)= 7.6 volts which my smart charger tells me is about 70%-74% full charge. I don't use 11.1 as I achieve a healthy 13-16 rps with all my builds with my 7.4s and don't wanna run them down too fast lol. My lowest 7.4 lipo is 1000mah/20c and my highest is 1450mah/20cs. You absolutely right tho having a mosfet that stops battery discharge is essential! Again if i remember right you don't eanna discharge your lipo down before 3.8 total volts of power. Everytime my mosfet stops my batteries from firing i pull them out plug them in and they where never below 3.8volts or atleast damn close to it hahah.
    Also never used the titans yet so I cant reliably give info on that 😅

    As a fan, I want to give you some constructive criticism. 1) The library of cuts that you have, they are cool, don't overuse them or they will get old and lose their value. 2) You covered everything about Lipos except the storage aspect. Lipos are not to be stored at 100% voltage. To resolve the 1st issue, keep shooting those random shots, edited them and put them aside. 3) and not least, up your hashtag game! Good luck to you and your channel!

      Kraken Airsoft it’s easily done 😂😂😂 the only reason why you storage charge it is just in case you can’t play for a while. I made the mistake of not storage charging mine and due to lock down had to replace 3x 7.2 lipos

    • @isaacshively6705
      @isaacshively6705 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes your right if you have a charger that has that function but if you have a cheaper charger that only charges and doesn't discharge or has charge options then you store them charged and if your not using them very often then charge them once a month, and tracers use lipo batteries so your supposed to charge them once a month and store them fully charged

    For every day use, I totally agree except with charging again before playing, that's only if you left the battery sitting for a while or in "storage mode" but if you play every weekend, just charge it as soon as possible and you are good for next weekend, charging again you are just wearing you battery unnecessary, each battery have a maximum number of cycles. Ideally u want to use your battery from 80% down to 15% more or less and just now an then do a full cycle. Also avoid charging at maximum amp also help to extend your batteries life, if you have time, slow charging is better

    One of the best investments you can make for your batteries is a balance charger. As opposed to a cheap amazon one that has no balance function. Your lipos will last forever that way.
