      @@SuperSimpleDevHello. Please help with your advice. I am interested in programming, I love technology, Linux. And now my father says that they can help me get a degree in Computer Science. But some say that this education is useless. I remember your video in which you said that CS it's a good education but it's been a while since that time. Please tell me what you think about it now. thank you

    great contents
    as self taught developer, I have built an online learning platform to upload all my project.

    That college part is not true more often then not, just because you have finished college doesn't mean you can do any job, in fact it's opposite. In my country only 1/10 company cares about college, it's all about portfolio to get interview and then showing them you can actually do everything you said you can do. Even with work experience it's nice to have strong portfolio that way scouts will call you and you will no longer waste time searching for work as work will find you.

    Am glad to see this video and this really makes me ask a question. I am completing my 3 year degree in IT, in my last year right now. My degree is from a distance learning college, a part time degree to be exact, so how should I go about making a portfolio and to crack an interview? Should I first take a bootcamp in my interested domain (which is currently web development with python) and then apply for a job or do it the way a normal college student does (internships).
    Now I know my learning curve matters in this alot but the way you gave the advice, it makes me curious to take a path which can prove better for my tech career.

    What would be your advice for a portfolio of computer vision or modelling work? Most of the magic in the modelling process is behind the sense. I meant it's easy to create a Flask web app to show how my model can do instance segmentation on microscopy images or classify a bird among > 500 species. However, the heavy lifting work is in the process of working on the model.

    It's simply because someone with a degree is supposed to have solid programming foundations.
    A software engineering is about skills like: problem solving, solid algorithmic knowledge znd understanding fucintional and object oriented programming.
    Also someone with c++ mastering (which is a well respected mid level language) can master any other languages quickly in laps of a month max.
    Knowing all this make the choice of someone with degree and c++ more logical.
    Ofc am talking about frech men not experienced devloppers

    what kind of projects are good for a frontend resume ?? are clone projects good or beneficial ?? Like many people already made them so do they dont any value to distinguish ??

    • @SuperSimpleDev
      @SuperSimpleDev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the quality of the project and code matters more than what the project is. I think a clone is fine (probably better than trying to design your own app), but try to pick a feature in the clone that's technically challenging and expand on it, a lot. Ideally, it's technical enough that you have to work hard on it for weeks/a month or so to figure it out and can't be taught in a 12hr tutorial. For my portfolio back in the day, I had an app that created playlists (pretty simple), but I had a feature that started a radio from that playlist that others could tune in and listen to

    • @SuperSimpleDev
      @SuperSimpleDev  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you're headed in the right direction. Don't worry, dealing with issues are actually good because you get a deeper understanding of the language and you'll have something to talk about when an interviewer asks you "what are some technical issues have you faced?"

    • @SuperSimpleDev
      @SuperSimpleDev  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@htmoh8115 Yup. I run coding interviews and those errors (reference, whitespace, misspelling, etc.) happen all the time when doing a coding problem. We don't really need you document them (like writing it down), we just want to see you're able to identify the issues and fix it. What you want to do is understand why the error is happening, then in the future try to have the error happen less. After a while, you get over the smaller issues and start focusing on bigger and bigger issues involving the overall code. Same thing applies to React, or any other language

    • @htmoh8115

      @@SuperSimpleDev really? When interviewing what do you seek in a candidate? How many programming languages do you seek? I saw on job advert, with a long list which I don't fit. • @SuperSimpleDev
      @SuperSimpleDev  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't seek any programming language actually. Different people use different languages to do the coding problem like JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, or Golang. Usually if they know 1 language very well, it's easy to learn another one so I'm not too worried about what language they know
