  • I think I read where the motors can handle 30v so you might can send more to free it up if 12v doesn’t work. I came across a post on 4runner forum that helped me out and thought I would share but I’m not verified to share links it was from feralcomprehension he led me to fixing it!

This is where the "Made in China" parts come in on the 4Runner. I was surprised they used a plastic housing for this mechanism. I am contemplating the fjcruiser transfer case swap.

Thanks alot for doing this video it really helps more than you know.
Do you know where i can find information on the V6 actuator which is the one I'm having problem with being stuck in L4 and with the rear diff locked in and we cannot get it unlocked.
Or do you think I can us a jumper wire to bump it back to H4 and unlock the diff lock?

I don’t think my diff lock will work unless it’s in 4lo so I would think you can get back to h4/h2 and then worry about that front actuator which is the diff lock on yours I believe. Hit the rear actuator with a rubber mallet while someone tries to engage it with the button while in Neutral. Go in reverse and forward every couple times. If it normally works great don’t take it apart just keep hitting it. You can put up to 30v on the wires I showed in the pic if hitting it doesn’t work

did you ever change the motor, and is this motor for the shift diff shaft or the Hi4 Lo4

No I haven’t had time to mess with it anymore. The lower motor is for the diff shaft and the upper motor I can’t access is for the HI4-lo4. I imagine it looks exactly the same up there

why when you turn on 4wd or 2wd it turns on and then turns off after a few seconds

When you send voltage do you use just one of the wires ?
