I created a raid 10 btrfs on linux using 4 - 4 tb seagate barracuda drives and 4 - tB seagate iron wolf drives. Using the btrfs app from gihub I can access the 12 tb volume from windows and share it on my home nework - behaves as NAS. Transfer rates from attached PC hits 170 MBsec +. MyPC uses an ASUS TUF Gaming Plus wifi. I connect to a 3.2 type A USB port using the cable that was suppied with the unit. Tried a USB C-C cable connected to a USB C 3.2 port, transfer rates dropped to 6 MBsec. Must have been bad cable (cost me 35 buck from Shoppers Drug Mart. So far this Terramaster D5-300c works great!
@@overclockersclub Cool. Thanks a mill. Yeah I backup a lot but am moving from a MacPro with 6 Hd's to one of those sweet MacBook Pro M1 Max laptops and need a solution for my data. I really hope i dont need to recover everything from backups!
@@overclockersclub Thanks. I'm coming from a 2009 Mac Pro that has 3.5in HDDs so I think they will work ok. I've ordered it anyway and if it doesn't work I'll sell it on! Thanks a mill for your help

@OverclockersClub where did you get the screws?
i have two hard drive with data inside,is it possible mounting without formatting? Thank you
yes its possible, he mentions it around 12:45
What type of usb ?? Aren’t there Raid 0, 1, JBOD dip settings on the back? Thanks
Very helpful. Thank you.
I have data on my hdd that I want to use do I still have to format them all??
Great review, thanks!
Will it autostart after power loss?
Does the circuit board inside still show a 5th drive but is hidden by the front right cover?
I just checked and there are only four positions.
Is it possible to set that up with a streaming PC for media and stuff, and have it back up to another drive in case of failure?
Yes that can be done, but you would want the D5-300 or one of the NAS units like the F2-210.
Hi ye. Do you know if i plug in drives from a MacPro with data on them will it work without reformatting. I really dont want to loose my data.
I am not sure. I’ll see if I can get a response from the manufacture, but always make sure to back up your data.

@@richiehatch Response got was "The D4-300 only supports 3.5” HDD and 2.5” SSD or HDD, Most mac use M.2 SSD, and it’s not supported."
