I also got my wings and a bonnet from lothian autoparts for my e46 330ci mine was fin the rare velvet blau colour. I had damage during shipping to the bonnet and wrong wings which they replaced with no complaints, well recommended .

@@GeorgeAusters Hi George, GREAT video! I have a very tidy 1998 E46 saloon as a daily hack and 3 classic cars. I bought the 46 in 2015 from a well known dealer of low owner, low mileage older BMW's. 2 lady owners, 44k on the clock. It now has 126k on the clock and the front wings are beginning to show signs of corrosion, it will be cheaper to fit new pattern wings then mess about having a body shop fettle the existing wings. Your video has given me the confidence to do this job myself. I was wondering which tool you used to remove the push rivets? Did you just refit them, or did you need new ones to complete the job?

Great video George, really useful and has inspired me to have a go at doing mine.
Just received a pair of wings from Lothian and they're not treated on the inside at all (no stonechip or wax). They don't say they do it so can't complain but just a note to others not to expect the inner surface treatment. I'll be doing that myself.

Mines the other way front arches are rust free, and the rears only have a tiny bubble on each side that I sanded down, treated with krust and touched up again last year, my old touring was rust free there as well, but I think its rear 1/4 was from another car as it was silver inside the petrol cap and a bit where the washer filler is for the rear wiper. That got wrote off quite badly though as I was t boned from the side, but has been put back on the road again since.

Part of George, from this side Grzegorz, from Poland ..... A job well done .... !!!. It's a pity you didn't cover the inner side of the fender with closed profile wax ?! You could also put the Wisk on the wheel arch, for closed profiles and under the decorative strip of the fender. Such a procedure would prevent the water from being so small in the structure of the sheet. In my F11 I did just such anti-corrosion protection for the chassis, wheel arches, rear belt behind the bumper, sills and closed profiles .... Best regards....

Great instructions George. Just ordered a wing due to same issues you had. One thing I didn’t see was when you fitted the 2 rivets to the front bracket which you had earlier drilled out? My guess is they’re 1/8” pop rivets but did you replace them with the plastic type river with the removable pin? If you did did you have to drill out the holes to make them larger or am I just missing something?! Cheers- Rob (2003 E46, rust free bar one wing)

these cars cost next to nothing in UK, however people pay big money for insurance which is ridiculously stupidly high, so not sure if it's worth it to invest into this old bark. you could source some e or even f series for a bit more, but I think it's more worth it, since better comfort and driving
