The day ableton changes the problems with PDC, UI of their plugins, and user friendliness of workspaces is the day nobody will afford to buy this DAW. And I'm hoping I'm quite wrong on it, but surely this will happen.
Duck yeah man! Meanwhile, I’m over here knocking 2-3 dB off with a 2:1 on this vintage emulation wondering how people get these kinds of sounds. That was awesome.
Yeah I believe the ableton multiband compressor uses butterworth filter cutoffs for the frequency split(24db/octave). I could be wrong but I think the overlap between the bands(since its gradual) is what screws up the phase. So yeah for those who use it for mastering- PLS DON'T.
If you just youtube "compression explained" there's honestly some really good breakdowns. Once you know what the knobs do its more just feeling it out than anything. Feel free to hmu for a lesson if you want :)
I'm actually curious how you would compare the Fuse Compressor vs Multiband x6 by Devious Machines. I know the Devious Machine's compressor also showcases upwards/downwards compression but I wonder how they differ a lot in workflow.
unless i missed something, it seems like fuse can't do any type of expansion. despite the low pole crossovers and lack of bands, multiband dynamics has a pretty big edge over fuse there
New Frequent tutorial? Yes please.
Dude wtf this is the multiband dynamics tutorial I’ve needed for so long
U have earned a sub you give me rocket powered sound vibes but more up to date with plugins
dude this is such a sick tutorial
really great examples of how to use fuse. it also sounded like you were beating the sh*t out of a micro wave at 16:55 lmao
Willing to bet Ableton see's this and updates the UI of Multiband compression. (hopefully)
Pfffft they need to address the PDC issues before anything else - and they’re like 10 years behind on that.
@@Trentcast ableton is legit borderline unusable because of problems with PDC. I don't know how people live with it in 2023.

... just bought it! (thanks for your awesome presentation!)
Wioooowowowooo sick sounds.. tanks for the tutorial man!! Great inspirations!!
YOOOOOOOO new Frequent upload!!!!!
i was hoping you'd do this, hehehe, lovely
If you hold ALT You can move upper and lower thresholds at the same time in ableton multiband, same works for changing the ratio
ALT+shift does something to each of the three bands too
I approve of these sounds
awesome overview. thx bro
Quality as always
Is that a CPU meter or metronome XD crazy stuff man, wow
It's $50 which is totally reasonable. Not only is the UI easier/faster, but it allows for more frequency bands than multiband dynamics.
If you already own pro-mb, is there any reason to get this?

fire tutorial as always!
love it!
If I wanted to learn everything compression related. Could I just read the ableton manual?? Or is there an easier way?

Thanks brotha!
Quality content! Also 50$ is very decent for this plugin!
Based freq very helpful
what skin are you using?
6 Bands?
I'm basically sold. Are those atk/release knobs for all or one-by-one?
EDIT: Nevermind, the adaptive tilt does exactly what I need.
Very inspiring ahh
hell yea

actually multiband x6 has no upwards compression, it is a common feature request though!
@@vVGistopVv my bad xD thank you for pointing that out. I was completely mistaken.
