Had the 900 and 600 version of these sanders and the motors are rubbish. Both lasted a few days of light, short use and the motors packed in. I tried to purchase brushes but couldn't find any to fit correctly.
Used mine 3 times and it stop working.Good construction but the motor is a POS .Brushes and the springs are not able to take load even light one for short time .When I took mine back to Lidl ,they refused to take it back and I was told to register return with the corporate office. After clearing all the hoops they offered me only half price paid for it.Not nice !
Sorry to hear that. I've only used mine a couple of times so I hope it keeps on working 🤞🏻 they are usually pretty good with returns I'm surprised you had a problem when returning it.
I had the same experience. I bought a year ago and used 7-8 times. First time the dust container fell apart, I repaired with hot melting, now it became weaker and starts sparking at rotor. I cleaned with pressed air regularly. If I consider its cheap price it was not a bad investment, I spent same amount of money for sanding belts this time.
Exactly the same happened to me. The ergonomics and clamp feature is really good but the motor and brushes are not fit for purpose at all
Thanks for the demonstration... grato pelas inforamocoes. Muito bem apresentado.🙂
Thanks! De nada :)
Good and clear review.
Cheers
Thank you for this review! We only have an orbital sander currently. That looks like it would be a good addition for our shop. Love the clamping feature 😃
Thanks! I was surprised by how useful this Belt Sander is and the low cost of it. I am glad I bought it.
This is an excellent review. I purchased the 600 which I found works very well indeed. I never use heavy pressure while working on any services so the end result is always good.
Thank you 👍🏾
Thanks you're welcome! I still have mine it works well. I think they are a real bargain.
A great help Phil ! Bought one today, so looking through a few tutorials before I 'launch' in...(!) Really informative/very appreciated.....Simon
Cheers Simon your welcome.
Good video, did it stand the test of time??
Thanks 👍🏻 yes I'm still using it and it's working just fine.
I got one of these in 2019 and no sooner did I get one that the filter that slides on the back of one of the tracks broke and couldn't be mended, I also disappointed even when working the dust extraction, I dont seem to recall any way of using a vacuum on mine perhaps I lost the part but seem strange because I kept everything in its own storage box like I do with most tools. I ended up throwing it away and getting a Bosch (PBS 75 A) and I have to say it a hell of a lot better not only in dust extraction with using a vacuum cleaner, but was quicker art removing material. I have had mixed views on Lidl tools in the past and have a few times throwing tools away after a short life and not heavy usage.
Sorry to hear that. Was it the same model? This is a 900 watt version. I like the look of the Bosch belt Sanders although they are considerably more expensive.
@@PhillWyattProjects I am not 100% sure I thought there was only one model, the main issue was how poor quality dust extraction was and or how easier it was to break. I know Bosch is a lot more but for me it is considerable much better, it didnt come with clamps though but easily made a jig where I can clamp it down than buy the Bosch clamps which seem hard to source. It seems a lot sturdier bench sander and have heard it quite robust. Any way main thing is if your happy with it
