Hi Tom, nice to see you enjoying the e bike ride, I love the freedom you have in the US, the e-bikes here in the UK have to have a 250w motor with a maximum speed of 15mph, another crap directive from Brussels, anything larger than that, is only permitted on private property, one day we will have are sovereignty back, it can't come quickly enough, then I can get a decent e-bike, safe travels 😀🇬🇧
Just to clear something up, regenerative brakes should only kick in when you hit the brake lever. They should not come on when you let off the throttle so coasting should not be affected. Also, they sell seat post shock absorbers which will improve comfort, I like mine.
Love your E bike. I have an Electra Townie E Bike and its great 👍. Just left Titusville Florida and thats a real biker destination, rails to trails great ride.....

Sounds like you need a MTB Suspension Seat Post. Will help with the ride and if you do make sure its a seat post made for mountain bike and as the geometry of travel is different for other bikes.

I got that Sportsman Generator , Very nice looks like it going to fit my needs perfectly I can run anything i need from my inverter 2kw . The Generator will just top off the batteries when the Solar does not. $149 great deal.

That looks like a nice ride and good info on the bike. Too bad about some of the trash on the side of the road. It looks like stuff from locals rather than boondockers. I am with you 100% on the beauty of the desert, especially this time of year. The spring flowers should be spectacular with all of the rain this winter. Hopefully you will get to see some of it before head north.

i bought a specialized in 2017..then saw some vids on ebikes...man, i had to have one. My first was a Sondors, then I bought a secondary which is better (pricier). There is no freedom like an ebike. I've ridden motorcycles since i was about 12-13 yrs old. Nothing compares to a powerful ebike, nothing. I rediscovered and discovered things in my home town i'd never see on my pedal bike...and we have a decent 'greenway' path that you can get around the entire city of 60k. I believe i will even travel to other 'greenways, bike paths' in other smaller cities, as they keep up the environment of the paths. My brother lives in cali and is pissed he doesn't have this type of thing after paying huge taxes. Eeesh. I tried to convince him to relocate, but california is, indeed, total titz, yo! And i can understand this, however, i'll go ahead an embrace the freedom of being from where i am.

I feel so...so.. insulted...Still mad at myself for forgetting my Rover, could have taken some good bike rides.Taking the TK in this morning to get the generator fixed, putting the Rover on the bike rack and going to ride it back home. Probably going to be there for a few days...
SD just passed a law requiring the bikes to have stickers on them saying what class it is and max speed. If you don't have the sticker on the frame it's a fine of up to $1k and 1 year in jail. So don't use your bike in SD if you ever come through. sdlegislature.gov/Legislative_Session/Bills/Bill.aspx?File=SB187HTR.htm&Session=2019&Version=House%20Transportation&Bill=187
It looks like the law is more for manufacturers and distributors of bikes and makes no mention of getting these stickers on existing or DIY bikes. There is also no mention of fines but I highly doubt it's considered a misdemeanor offense.

Any person who violates this section is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. The news report said class 1 misdemeanor but towards the bottom of the bill it says class 2. Which is 30 days and or $500 fine. Idk if diy bikes are part of that or not but it sure sucks that they couldn't leave it alone. Just another way to mess with people.
We have got to stop letting " them " regulate everything that we do , its bad enough that " they " have us getting licenses and permits and registrations , for our personal vehicles , ( which , by the way do not need to be registered or licensed if not used for commercial purposes , this is a fact , many supreme court case law on this ! ) this is our last vestige of free travel, we the people must stand up and say NO EFFIN WAY !!!!!!!!!!, PEACE BROTHER !

Only the stuff I changed already. If I were to do it all over again there are bigger badder kits out now.
What prices have you seen in bike shops vs. building it yourself Tom?
When I built mine almost 2 years ago it was a great deal. Now there are many lower end bikes from Luna and Radpower that are a better value.

Yes still going there on the 29th, Looking for BLM camping that has access to the trails.
FR525 is the only boondocking in the area that I know is still open. It's south of town but I don't know where those trails are.
