Auckland Museum LATE03: Sam Hunt

Thursday, 5 November 2009 | Great Music LATE 03 | Russel Walder, Elena, SJD, Sam Hunt and David Kilgour performed for the LATE 03 audience. Back in the foyer, literary icon Sam Hunt, recited rhythmic prose, followed by David Kilgour and his guitar. Meanwhile, in the Oceans Gallery upstairs, the soothing sounds of oboist Russel Walder blended perfectly with the marine setting. Across the divide, SJD jammed with fellow artists in a multi-tiered workshop space which, for the evening, had been transformed into a bar with ambient, industrial chic.

Sam is my fave Kiwi poet after J K Baxter. As an expat it is great to hear Sams distinctive Kiwi accent.
