    Is it on your video but the original gba screen looks really white whereas it looks yello on emulation? Is it true?

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah emulation is more saturated. That particular gba has a DSi screen installed it's 1x scaled pixel perfect though it's a bit more saturated than original. I recently acquired a silver stock gba sp to compare to my silver rg35xxsp. That will be a more true comparison.

      @@Johntriger i have checked my 35sp and indeed whites are really white. I compared as you advance wars and at the beginning the dress of the girl seems more blue than purple on emulation

      @alex2921 Made a new video showing the Anbernic SP vs a SP 001 with original screen a SP with a DSI screen and a GBA with a 101 screen. Also showed the V10 to show how big GBA looks on it. Hope it can show you what I mean.

    It does come through in the video! Could see the blurriness on the RG35XX SP compared to the sharpness on V10. Glad to see that :)
    A question, can't I rebind the keys/buttons on RetroArch so that the minus and plus acts as the volume buttons?

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Glad you could see what I am talking about, It is not just the RG35XXSP that is an issue, it is any 4:3 screen that is 640x480p. They just do not work well with GBA.
      Yeah, you can rebind the keys in Retroarch under the Tools section you can save the changes. So it could be Select and Plus or Minus button to control volume after rebinding. Select up and down would still control main volume though.

    GBA emulators often have a shader/option to adjust the colors to make them appear more like they do on a real GBA, is that enabled in this video? Could explain the significant difference in colors. Thanks for the comparison!

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No shaders enabled to desaturate the gba colors. Non integer scaling on the rg35xx series bothers me more than saturated colors. I just wanted to show the standard experience minus shaders. You can find ways to enjoy games on all of these emulation consoles and many can be adjusted easily to personal preference. I am a big fan of GBA and SNES so you will see me test those games on this channel. The Gameboy AGB and the Powkiddy V10 are my go to ways of enjoying gba nowadays. I have a video in the works showing how I mod my v10 to make is silent and more enjoyable to play. So far its handheld of the year stocking stuffer status for me. I've purchased three so far.

    I’m looking for a sub 200 $ handheld with all the games and that I could watch Netflix on if I wanted too, any recommendations thank you in advance 👍

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Unfortunately, none of the handheld that can play Netflix come loaded with games. Most Android devices that have the Play Store will work with Netflix, though. I like the pocket flip for the ability to place it on a table, tilt the screen towards me, and watch shows. It's basically an iPhone 6s/ 7/ 8 screen connected to a controller. Haven't tried the pocket 4 and 4 pro, but I am sure they are more powerful if you want to play some 2d switch games. Like I said, though, most android devices don't have games loaded. There are guides out there on how to load them up. I like the RGCube more than my pocket flip for Gamecube, but since it's a square 1:1, it isnt great for watching shows, so I can't recommend it to you since you want to watch Netflix.

    How did you get rocknix to work? I tried it and it installed but my games wouldn't show up. After I did the initial load with the newly flashed SD card the ROMs folder was still empty and even after I added my games they didn't show up..

    • @withfoamable
      @withfoamable หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Rocknix puts the roms on the SD card's ext4 Linux partition. You either need to plug a USB drive into the unit and use File Manager to copy them over or use ssh/samba over the network with an ethernet or wifi dongle in the V10. I used samba across my network and got everything working.

    • @Johntriger
      @Johntriger  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly, thanks for repeating that. Then just run refresh game lists in the settings menu to populate it all with the games you transfered.
      For an easier time if you have access to a Linux or Mac you should be able to see the roms partition and transfer games easily.
      I hope Rocknix changes the formatting of the storage to something windows can see in the future. Or windows gets the ability to see ext4 partition formats.

      @@Johntriger I'm on a Mac and I couldn't see the partition. Samba was the easiest solution. :(

      Thanks, I'll give it a try. I do like that you can see the roms partition on arkos but something about having to load individual programs to change things like wifi seems overly complicated for beginners or people just wanting to play. I do like the quick shutdown when it works good.
