Learn to understand the application of Gibbs Phase Rule in the simulation of a distillation column using Aspen HYSYS. The composition and temperature analysis become 1-1, when pressure of the column is fixed. In industrial processes, usually a combination of both temperature and composition control is applied for effective control of the process, and to achieve the desired specifications. Compositions controls are slow and costly, while temperature controls are fast and less costy.
