I enjoy collecting the Classic Universal Monsters. I have the originals on VHS, and hope to find some brand new ones on Betamax, DVD and Laser Disc. A good mini documentary on what formats these movies were released on.

@crissrudd 4554 a fun and interesting video. I actually do have one VHS box set that contains 3 Universal monster films, but they consisted of The Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon and the 1940s Phantom of the Opera. But since it is a Australian release, that probably explains why it has the different order. But anyways, excuse me for being off topic but are you excited for the Scream Factory Blu Ray of Dracula 1979?

I’m personally not getting it but I hope it’s the best for anyone who does. The next BD release I’m looking forward to is Arrow’s RoboCop. And yes I know the set you’re referring to but yeah cause it’s an Australian set I didn’t mention it. Nothing against Aussies or anything haha I just wanted to keep these videos condensed to specific releases because if I spoke about EVERY video release EVER of these films the videos would be MUCH lengthier than they already are. Hell I managed to pump out a 14 minute Frankenstein video and even that was condensed!

@crissrudd4554 Nothing wrong with keeping it condensed at all. Leaving it to one country does help to make thing s a whole lot less bloated! But anyways, I am also excited for the Robocop Arrow set as well. Especially for the original audio mix and the 1.66 aspect ratio. Looks like its a jam packed set!

It’s not gonna have the 1.66 aspect ratio.

@crissrudd4554 My mistake. To be fair, the 1.66 and the 1.85 seem to look pretty close. And 1.85 is how Robocop would have been showed in at least nearly all theaters.

Pete 1972 correct! The selling point for me was they finally included the theatrical cut! Nothing against the directors cut but I think it’s kinda ridiculous that it took this long for the theatrical to get a proper BD release (not counting the cancelled Sony release from a while back) especially since the 2007 DVD had both cuts in the same quality.
