Hello Sir! in OMDM reactions, why doesnt the acetic acid which is formed by gaining H(plus) released by water molecule(generally) reacts with the basic medium in the second step ? Also if we add OH grp to say 1 mol double bond then it would require 1mol Hg(OAc)2 which would ultimately yield two moles of acetic acid which is a fair amount to react with anything else.. Thankyou sir!

Sir, I am so many lecture back and may not be able to complete every chapter of this Organic series of urs before Mains first attempt, but I want to tell u that u should not be any fast or might skip several things in order to complete Organic syllabus before Jee mains first attempt(U usually don't, but if such situation comes). Even if it reacts it will still remain a bad nucleophile as the lone pair is in resonance. The real logic has been explained in the video
