I'm here cause of a korean drama "do you like Brahms?" I fell in love with this song..

The tragedy of Schumann is that he lived a tragic life, ending tragically in a mental asylum after attempting to drown himself. In his music, beyond the beautiful melodies, one could hear the pain of his emotions, the struggles with himself and with life. That is what makes Schumann such an endearing and a composer who will be forever remembered.
i think Schumann is also suffering from multiple personality disorder as he labelled the two emotional extremes in his changeable personality "Florestan" and "Eusebius". Florestan is for his fiery and stormy side while eusebius is for his lyrical and sensitive side.
How you gonna get less likes than some random kid saying they're from a Korean drama
@@suburbaninhabitor I really don't know, and I really don't care where they heard the song. I have nothing against the K-drama community, seeing as I can't really see what is it that is great about them. What's important, I think, is that more people are finding these beautiful melodies composed centuries ago, and that, to me, is great. If you found it in an anime, that's great; if you found it in a Korean drama, that's great; if you found it in a sitcom, that's great; if you just happened to stumble upon it, that's great; it doesn't matter where you heard it, it's music wherever you heard it.
@@jojovoldo4058 Yeah, I also heard of his multiple personality. I think it's sad, but, like van Gogh, he conjured all his problems into his music, and now he is immortalized through the melodies and pieces he write in his lifetime. It's sad that most of the people who write beautiful things are mentally ill, but through their expressions, not only do they spread awareness of what they are going through, they make the most poignant, beautiful, and mystifying of melodies, that not even the most inspired can think of.
@@kjcs_1896 Yes sad indeed but it's also beautiful for us people hearing and studying his music then realizing that he suffers from a mental illness. I think it is common for good musicians to have a mental illness like a study that finds 73% of independent musicians are suffering from symptoms of mental Illness and they are more prone to anxiety or depression although music for us listeners benefit us by relaxing our mind and keeping our mental health. That's why there is a music therapy for different mental health conditions including depression, trauma, and schizophrenia because music acts as a medium for processing emotions, trauma, and grief but for me most of the time it acts as a regulating or calming agent for our mind including Schumann's music. I always listen to his music when im studying or reading something and also when im drawing something because it calms me and helps me focus more.
I fall in love with traumerei after watching kdrama entitled "Do You Like Brahms?"

People are nagging in the comments "I allready knew this song omg those people are from a kdrama" be happy more people enjoy this master piece.
Not everyone grew up with parents listening to piano or playing piano.
It is a good thing a show mentioned this type of music and more people can enjoy it now!
Wanna hear something even worse? I heard this song from a old Samsung flip phone i found in the attic...
kjhg
well those people aren't flooding the comment section with "Omg who's here because XX :)"
That kdrama is a fraud.
I haven’t listened to hardly any Schumann ever but I’m starting to like him a lot! Beautiful playing!
me too!
SIU has brought us here today to listen to this beautiful piece
Lo po bia
Do you like Brahms opened us up to a whole new world
😐
@Jacob H nobody is hating on the show. It's just that literally everyone here is only talking about the show they aren't talking about the actual piece and it's so annoying because we don't have to know where they found the piece from
@@suburbaninhabitor but the show helped people recognize this amazing piece of art. This is the Internet, let the people say anything they want as long as they're not hurting anyone.
@@tmaker5922 all im saying is that theres no point in saying that you came from the show because it fills up the comment section with needless garbage instead of actual stuff about the piece
@@suburbaninhabitor Agree. It makes the piece sound similar to a commodity rather than art
Still one of the most beautiful pieces ever written. Heart-touching.
No one:
Schumann: Imma add some chill passing chords.
Accidentally invents the first fundamental of jazz harmony.
I usually wouldn't listen to this piece unironically because of how overplayed this is but my opinions on it is starting to change, and slowly I am learning to just appreciate the beauty of music without caring about how overplayed it is. Schumann in his music, captures nostalgia perfectly, especially in this piece. My circumstances in life recently is not the best, and this piece has a sense of longing for the past that I can deeply identify with. It reminded me of when I was a child, laying in bed at night, and enjoying the breeze of the air conditioner during the summer.
I don't know much about music, I heard this song in an advertisement long time ago. Recently I saw a k drama Do you like Brahms. I fall in love with this music

Am I th only one here who knew this piece before kdrama do u like brahms?
@@renju252 yep, It was a good thing that from kdrama, they could introduce this piece or classical music to many people who didn't know this beautiful piece so that many would become familiar with classical music, but ngl i'm kinda feel annoyed by the comments who's just talking about th kdrama😶
Heidi Christina Right, similar the to many comments on a Für Elise video; coz some shit Jared Leto movie decided to use it in its trailer. can you imagine? 😂 Beethoven’s fucken Für Elise
@Marlene R I know right:)
You're not 😊 I think Yt recommended it for me a year ago? And it's just so beautiful that I'll never forget it 😭❤️
I knew it bc I play piano since 10 years. this piece is one of the most famous schumann pieces on piano repertoire
LO PO BIA TRAUMEREI IS HERE BABYYYY
les goooooo
@@nishiiyy4608 a little bit late, but hell yeah.
I love the fact that the piece is called 'TRAUMerie'.
Schumann always had that innocence of a child in his music.
"Traumerei" was the focal point of "Do you like Brahms in my opinion. Since it follows somehow the tragic love story of the real musicians, the kdrama series of course, put their own spin but nevertheless, this "first love" kind of tone, really hits home.
This video reminded me why I'm a pianist...
Why?
Why?
Why?
Like many commenters, here because of "Do you like Brahms?" Korean drama. Love the series and came here seriously due to episodes 13 & 14 about one person's playing of the song😢😓😭
sorry for this correction but in the world of classical music it is not a song but a piece. As seen throughout the drama you can see them referring it as a piece. And I also love that drama because the fact that they can play makes me feel happy.
@@sage_han6416 thanks for correction. Glad to know. How a performer's rendition of a piece is what led me here.
This song is so special... Something nostalgic about it.
I feel the same, it’s nostalgic.
When Traum plays a classic piece, it's not boring...
It's meta🔆
"you are forgiven. And neither of them know exactly what he meant but the old man starts to cry and they will never see each other again."
Yes you are what i was looking for.
I want to say thank you so much for this, cuz i rarely could finish 1 classical piece, seeing your hand movement for each melodies really help me! And yes, Träumerei now become one of my favs classical pieces, it's just so beautiful and relaxing!
I reaaaaally enjoy schumann's music. He's amazing

I'm here because......I want to hear your interpretation of Traumeri. I'm playing it at the moment and I like to hear different versions. I like playing it nice and slowly. It's very relaxing. It's taken me a while to master it and I enjoy fine tuning it. Thank you for your video.
No wonder this piece makes me feel calm and relax and sounds like it come from a different world... This piece literally called "dream"
I’m here because I’m teaching myself how to play this piece. The visualized playing is very nice.
Every great composer has one thing that I associate them with. To me, Schumann is the master of nostalgia.
Sehr schön

Beautiful piece! Well played, Traum!
I love this piece. Reminds me old memories:))
It brings back memories that I never had...
I came here from Ayakashi: Romance Reborn and this song is so beautiful. The ending is especially emotional as it gets slower and the notes are drawn out more. As a classical pianist, I truly did appreciate this.
Yess music that make you feel happy and peace ... thanks to the drama "do you like brahms ?"

Do you know what? This song is so beautiful and It's still so easy to play. Such an masterpiece. 🙏❤️👏
Oh no it is not easy
@@jadenasis921 It is, compared to a lot of other popular classical pieces
What do you mean i dint quite understand
@@glad_exe It's easy to press the right notes. Playing it is another thing entirely.
It's no that hard technically, to hit right notes.. But musically it is different level of difficulty. You obviously don't play.
Always a great second or third piece to learn when starting the piano I started playing at 17 in 2006 and this was the second piece I learned on the piano
I'm here because of do you like brahms. It feels like there's something about this beautiful piece here. Is anyone with me?
yes too many "people" are with you

I love the fact that traumerei means dreaming and traum piano is the channel’s name so it means dream piano❤️

'Do u like Brahms' kdrama introduced me to this piece, this is a very emotional one ❤️
Now where was l ? I must have been dreaming! 😨 l do enjoy listening to Schumann now and again. Thankyou Traum
This îs one of the songs that my grandad use to play when i was a child like 20 years ago, and then it make me cry, and now everytime i hear it tears start automatically to pot down my face! And then was Vladimir Horowitz! 😢😢
Belíssima música
I'm here, not because of the korean Drama "do you like Brahms?", but for great music
Very beautiful, thank you :)
Oh yes, Schumann, I don't listen to much Schumann but this is beautiful
Do you like bramhs fans???
Traumerei this song is so peaceful and it's meaning is so deeply that can't explain with a word but can explain it with a song from a heart a deeply heart for someone his/her is miss, or love or like but can't say with word but with music
This song is so🥰😢
Sorry, but the song is actually about Schumann missing and looking back on his childhood. It encapsulates the purity and innocence of one's fond memories of being a child. It would be what you call "a trip down memory lane." There's nothing to do with loving a significant other. Just so you know :)
nice interpretation but obviously wrong
Because of Kim Min Jae from Do you like Brahms this music touches my heart
Assistindo " Do You Like Brahms ?"acabei ficando apaixonada com essa peça de Schumann 🥰🥰,me traz uma calma.
