I met Chi in Chicago after a show and he was absolutely amazing to meet, we talked well I was drunk (in the 90s) anyway I made him laugh and we shook hands and he sighed my ticket.
So it’s called Digital Bath, cause it’s about a guy that killed a woman by electrocution in a bath tub, drying her off and putting her clothes back on Quite dark, and I LOVE IT
Somewhat. Its actually about having an intrusive thought of doing that to someone and just walking away like nothing happened. The underlying theme of the album this song is on is someone controlling someone else or a situation. The flip side to the Digital Bath coin is Feiticeira which is about a female (possibly a cop?) kidnapping a male and forcing him to do things for a camera.
The White Pony snare. Timeless. Abe is a really overlooked drummer in general. That dude is tight. Frank's sound design and musique concrete on this song makes the song so much darker
It's called that because it's about a dream Chino had about drowning a woman in a bathtub. If you look at the lyrics in that context it all falls into place.
You mentioned the different sounds and samples. Frank is their keyboardist/dj. He layered the song with samples. Even during the breakdown, he played a water dripping sample.
Absolutely adore Deftones! Please react to more. I got into them with "White Pony" myself back in the day, and i've never left. Love and light from Texas
Owhh yesss, you gotta check out more Deftones, you will love it all! Their songs, Cherry Waves, Rosemary, Royal are some suggestions from their other albums
Purchased this CD when it came out in 11th grade. Before I knew what the actual lyrics were I interpreted it as wanting to be closer to a girl that you really like but it’s just not getting anywhere. I was going through that at the time so this song will always trigger those memories.
There is a lot of "self sampling" and sound design on this. Frank would run his turntables, a Nord Lead 2 synth, a Novatron, and samplers through an FX bay and create these textural washes and effects then sample THAT and modify it further. This song's bridge section before the last chorus with the water droplets is a perfect example of what Frank Delgado does in the context of this band. He adds seasoning to the pot of stew. During live shows when the songs do not have his sound design elements or keyboard playing in them, he leaves the stage.
4:40 - It's called Digital Bath because it's about someone taking a bath with a television set, which I'm guessing must have been a LCD TV in the tub, otherwise it would be an 'analog bath'.
Deftones studio albums are generally fantastic. I've seen them live twice, great performance, but they sounded terrible both times. Surprisingly awful. I'm pretty sure Chino was hammered both times, but we came back sweaty, exhausted, with ringing in the ears, so a good time was had by all. Edit: Digital bath refers to su***de by electricity and water, I do believe. Sorry, much nicer to think of metaphorically bathing in Digital sounds, for sure.
I've seen them four times. As the headlining band three times, they were phenomenal. As part of a festival lineup, they were not good. Still my favorite band of all time.
This song deserves a Grammy just for the tone of that snare drum alone.
As does your name 😉
YES a thousand times. Knife Party also is a sexy jam : )
100% tune!!
@@RealLifeCoupleReact Should really show her Knfe Prty. Imho it's their best track.
this is the most beautiful song about murder ever LOL
Haha insane! Haunting though 🥰

Yeah, but this is YT so....there's why they "don't know" (can't say). Damn sad I think.

Diamond eyes is an underrated album- check out "rocket skates" killer Chino vocals.

Yes! To Deftones. Influences being the Smashing Pumpkins and Hum. Hell, yeahs!

They have a great catalog. Especially in the later years.

From Canada and seen the White Pony tour as well, Taproot and Incubus opened in Toronto
Rip Chi Cheng😢💪
That entire album is fire!!! Not one bad song.
Its called Digital Bath because the song is about a dream Chino had about putting a woman in a bathtub and throwing a toaster in it.
One Love for Chi ❤

They've always been pretty hit or miss live, when they're on they're fucking great, when they're not they're pretty sloppy
It’s not about sui. It’s a random sxxual fantasy Chino had about electrocuting a girl in a bath.

Hi guys, next please do a reaction for "Come On" by Oktaf Kanis, thank you 😊
Cherry waves!
Full total
React to be quiet and drive far away
Whats not to like. Great band. This band is important in the greater scheme of things in the development of experimental and Nu rock or metal
Cuál,!😊

She seems quite lovely.
