Great video!! Very informative! How would you compare using a monocular vs magnifier app on iPhone or similar smartphone? You mentioned glossy stock paper is easier for monocular. Are there other instances where you find the monocular is better than just zooming in on a smartphone?
@Ty-1652, thanks for watching, comparing Monocular and the magnifier feature on the iPhone. Some situations come up in my day today lol vision life when the monocular is easier, quicker, and less conspicuous. For instance, when out and about town. With my trusty monoculars pre-focused for commonly viewed distance attached to a lanyard around my neck. Checking signage is quick and easy, and the target image depending on lighting is often easier to bring into view. Additionally, when using the iPhone magnifier in a crowd people behave un-predictably; smartphone cameras are often perceived as invasive. Thanks for asking, I sincerely hope this makes sense. Make it a great day, and stay safe.
Hey Guy, I like your videos. I am AMD. Has been dry type. my Doc says shots will be available in February for dry type. Any thoughts about that? Anyway I could not find the 8 X 30 ones on Amazon but I did find the 4 X 12 on Amazon. Any idea who else may have the 8 X 30 ? Also how to give you credit when I order from Amazon ? Thanks, Ron.
After just 4 months, it is no longer available on Amazon. I am looking for something for soccer games where i can see around 1/3 of the field magnified. The problem I have is that if the magnification is too much, then as soon as they kick the ball 1/4 down the field, I've lost it. I don't know if this is the best for that.
@carljensen5730 , Ok here is another option I found that I believe will work for you. The Vortex Optics Solo Monocular 8x36 amzn.to/3PFiOV7 has good magnification and a good field of view. Thanks for commenting, enjoy watching the soccer matches.
Another good Monocular option for outdoor sports viewing: amzn.to/3PFiOV7
