Excellent, thank you both. It’s very interesting to hear about your approach and about the instrument. As an amateur French horn player I wish we could have a set up like the 4 valve compensating system you have on the euphonium. I mean a single Bb horn with a fourth valve and a compensating mechanism to correct the intonation. Plus a hand stopping valve. This would save the weight of a full double. Those exist as far as I know. Don’t know who makes them though.
