Trump says Micheal Cohen is a terrible lawyer, yet he employed him for twelve long years. Hard to take Trump's claim seriously.
He is a terrible lawyer! Cohen did the easy things. He was never in the legal department of the company. And Trump liked him because he bought a lot of properties from Trump. -- Only if the jury are 12 die hard partisans and stupid, will Trump be convicted. Cohen just bombed the whole case up, and showed the prosecutors to be incompetent and corrupt. Not just stealing money. But stole from the same pool of money that the prosecutors claim Trump approved!!!! The case is done!!

A graduate of Fordham University School of Law, Costello currently works as a partner at the law firm Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP. Besides Giuliani, he’s done work for clients including former New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, former Yankees manager Gene Michael, businesswoman Leona Helmsley and former drug program agents who filed an employment lawsuit against the National Football League.

I took my jury duty very seriously. We did as we were instructed, did not talk about the case until we were told we could. I'm sure this jury is doing the same and whatever the outcome, we will all have to live with their decision.

I've taken both of my jury occasions very seriously. In the first, the judge told us, "We are not stretching this out. You will decide this afternoon." The case was about a Cuban couple who crashed their car into a Haitian couple's car, which was destroyed. There were six of us, and I and the black woman said it was clearly the former's fault. We saw the traffic footage and studied the reconstruction drawings. The four Cuban jurors decided on the basis of nationality and race. It broke my heart. But I believe this doesn't happen most of the time.

There needs to be new court rules allowing prosecutors to bring everything a defendant says in public to court even after discoveries and arguments are done. The jury shouldn't be forced to ignore all of the self-incriminating stuff a defendant says out of court for the sole reason that discovery in the case is over and no additional evidence can be presented when the defendant keeps producing new materially relevant evidence every waking hour.
Unfortunately, too many people become Lawers just to find out what they can get away with.....

Costello was the Prosecutor's best friend. They should take him out for lunch and thank him for helping them.
We're a great nation because the majority of us support democracy, law, order, justice , and equal rights for law abiding citizens.
How is Costello testifying about what his former client Cohen told him not a violation of attorney/client privilege?
Cohen never hired him. Costello wrote in the famous email, "Is he totally nuts? He's playing with the most powerful man on the planet."
So Cohen may have waivered privilege in connection with this case, but in 2017-2018 i doubt he would have.. However it seems now Costello by emails presented on cross in this trail indicates that during 2018 Costello violated confidentiality, and it is now on the record in this case. I hope someone on Cohen’s behalf finds he has the grounds to report Costello to the bar
Cohen never hired him. There was never any privilege. The famous email was when Costello wrote to a law partner, "He's crazy to go up against the most powerful man in the world," or words to that effect.

I have a hard time following what Andrea Mitchell says.
I hope the jury deliberates fairly and carefully. It has been great to see Justice Merchan being careful to protect Trump's rights despite Trump's abhorrent behavior towards the justice system and even Merchan's family. The fact that he wouldn't bring the agreement between Trump and Weiselberg into evidence makes it clear he is not helping the prosecution.
It looks like Trump is guilty, but that is what a jury is for. There should be no question about the validity of the verdict.

Jury members have brains and a life before they serve. They don't arise out of a vacuum. A defendant is entitled to due process and a presumption of innocence under the law. If they have become a public laughingstock, that's not on the jury.

Jurors can and often do rise to the occasion. The average person is not as entrenched as the two opposite poles. Court rooms are serious places, and it does instill a sense of duty in the average person. To break away from what’s expected usually requires someone who is recalcitrant and unwilling to consider things from another person’s perspective. And for the most part, attorneys are pretty good at weeding out these people. In part because their recalcitrance is worn on their sleeve like a badge. In many cases they have established patterns of speaking without regard to those around them. That lack of practice of self control and speaking about things in moderate terms will cause these types of potential jurors to be dismissed for cause. Most just can’t help themselves. Or believe their signs of disgust or loyalty are subtle.
