Thanks for the clarification and time to explain. Thats why everything needs to be independently researched. Every ingredients needs to be researched. I’m a full time nurse and an aromatherapist. Research is my process on everything. you help a lot of people to learn to formulate, but they still need to do testing and research. Thanks Tara.
Thank you @TaraLee for the recommendation of Cosmetic Your Way. Definitely will be following for sure. Girl, you are on top of your game. Nailed it. I love learning from you. Keep it up.
After such a long time I am really happy to see you back with long videos I love your long videos so much. Thank you for the clarification. I really loved the video . I'm from India I love to buy my distilled water from labs, and cosmetics raw material suppliers. I got to know your previous collaboration video with. Zachariah was a great person where we can learn chemistry behind. I love the way you support other creators many of them will not do that really this is why you're the gem and best always. I would love to see a deep dive about allantoin and its solubility confusion. Overall I wanted to see videos like this. Love from me sister🥰🥰
I'm so happy to be back uploading longer videos! They are fun to make. Thanks so much for sharing where you get distilled water. Also I'm glad you checked out Zachariah's content. I'll be sure to keep allantoin in mind. That is a good one! Thanks for all the love and support 💗
Thanks! This is helpful. I love these videos covering a single ingredient or a single formulating method. Also, don't know how long you've been using it, but I love the new outro music. I caught myself jamming along to it before I realized what it was 😂
I just recently started doing them. this videos blog won't have them since the blog was so long and I shared so much info, but dedicated recipes videos will have one available on patreon.
answering the question about distilled water: here in brazil, it is relatively easy to find it too. we can buy it in gas stations (normally used in radiators), cosmetic or medical stores (used for autoclaves) or chemistry stores. it retails for about 13 BRL for 5l, which is about 20% more of drinking water, so not that expensive.
Thanks Tara, I'm just starting to formulate with niacinamide and I was beyond confused with what everyone had to say on the ph. You provided a lot of reading materials so I will definitely go through them and I'll be more confident to formulate at a lower ph. Also, we as non-scientific people are not the only ones who occasionally share misinformation, science is not absolute and even scientists disagree with each other all the time.
i’m so glad i could help you out!😁 and yup you are so right! doctors, scientists, chemists, etc will definitely disagree and share wrong information too.
Canada viewer here, distilled water is available at grocery stores and drugstores. It's best to keep an eye open for sales when possible. Great informative video!
Thank you so much for this amazing recipe, I have been searching for a good niacinamide moisturiser and this seems perfect😊I could only get gelled panthenol, so should I decrease the 10g of distilled water to dissolve it? Thank you kindly. God bless
I always appreciate questions. I was also confused about this topic! That is why we have to talk about these things because no one person is going to figure it out. So much love. ❤
Hey tee ❤ Thank you for this video Watching from Nigeria 🇳🇬 I have a question on poly Suga mulse d9 Why does mine make the product lather when it been use?
OMG! 😂 Your cat napping on the couch behind you is fricking adorable!! Their twitching little feet! ❤ They're both so cute! 😍 Thank you so very much for this, so informative! I spend hours watching your videos, and I learn something new with every single one. 😁
Your videos are so thorough and helpful. I always walk away learning more than I wanted to. I mean that in a good way. Really keeps the cogs turning in the noggin. 😂
Thanks for great info of Niacinamide 😍 Wanna know Niacinamide 3% and Alpha arbutin 1% formula is ok or not Bcoz seeing some rashes after a few usage Waiting for Alpha arbutin video too
With sodium hydroxide always add it to cold water, not vice versa. The reaction produces a lot of heat and hard to control if water added to NaOH. Also L-arginine can be used to raise the pH
Now with the advent of AI, people are taking, verbatum, their 1st google search result (which is usually AI generated) as fact. All suppliers are not putting out factual information and it varies so greatly from to another. You're right though, making mistakes is part of learning and growing. Admitting that is being fully transparent to your audience. We're all human, mistakes are going to happen. It's up to each individual to do the research and fact check multiple sources to find the common ground. Great video Tara.
Please teach me how to make the Russian doctor’s skin mixture. Its ingredients are filler, Botox, collagen, fruit acid, citric acid, ginseng, lupine extract, and egg whites.
does the base not already have a preservative? if not then you need one, but it should have one. and I talked about pH in this video. Bases should already have a skin safe pH.
@@TaraLeee thank you, yes it already has a preservative, if I add the 2% niacinamide powder will I need to add more of that preservative? I think it will be okay at the pH it is because 2% niacinamide will not raise the pH by much :)
Something is up with my skin like pros and cons after using niacinamide in my skincare for more than over a year now and pros are very much everywhere but not the cons

Even well educated chemists & doctors make formulating mistakes and sometimes they are fairly amateur mistakes. Not saying you can't trust them, but just that being uneducated isn't a reason to not try to do it. You do your best and learn. Be humble. Seek understanding. Learn general safe and good practices as much as you can.
Dr. Grey is helpful, and I do watch her as an authority of skin related topics.... BUT she definitely gets paid to push certain brands and ingredients. I have heard her say some strange things from time to time.
She is such a good teacher
