It's a shame that Snow Peak goes cheap with the grill grate. The chrome plated grill not only rusts like a pig, but also leaks heavy metal and should not be used for preparing food. What's the point of having everything in 304 stainless except for the grill? Snow Peak should do the right thing and recall the grates!
It's 316 steel I believe. ALL SS rusts. It's the nature of the beast. They really SHOULD make this in titanium. It would be 40% lighter AND stronger and never rust. AND safe to cook on.

The music is perfectly chosen to complement the mood of alienated modern sterility radiating from those two poor people, looking so miserable and awkward, operating this elaborate contraption. I love being outdoors, I love building and tending campfires. This scene, though, is bleak and soulless.
The moment the blowtorch came out was the moment I decided this must be satire.
That said, I love many of Snow Peak's other products. Looking forward to getting some of their titanium sake cups.

yes, that's why it's so expensive
All our products are designed in Japan, and many are manufactured there as well, but it varies by product.
This set-up needs a flat grill. Nobody likes cleaning this one because of the uneven surface. Other than that, it's an awesome firepit that every camper should have.
So why is the floga got patina and the firepit looks brand new, ? Seems weird, too staged.
The firepit body is made with excellent 316 stainless steel, bravo. Too bad the grill is made with cheap chrome plated weaved steel which will rust and hard to clean, disappointing. The ash pan should be made of quality 304, even better 316 stainless steel instead of painted steel 🔥🏕️
Yep, we used a brand new Takibi Fire & Grill set when making this video. With a few more uses, it will have a patina to match the Floga!
