There's a reason vampire auras are typically portrayed as dim reflections relative to that of mortals. Equally so, there's a reason the vampires in the artwork are overwhelmingly caught in snapshots of excess - it is because after some time of undeath, only excess can even dimly rouse them. There's no adrenaline that courses through a vampire - there is only vitae. There's no melatonin that tells a vampire when to sleep - there is only vitae. There's no hormones that overwhelm a vampire's senses when there's love in the air - there is only vitae. There's no churning of the stomach when sustenance is needed - there is only vitae. When a vampire "feels" something it is not likely to be a legitimate emotion or physiological sensation, but only something like a memory. And the longer one has been a vampire, the more distant and dimmer those memories are. From the time a vampire is made, it is acting out a human simulation. Humanity just tells you how accurate that performance remains and as time slips on so does one's humanity inevitably slip down.

I am so glad that you are co-writing for Vampire... Makes me hope for an excellently written V5. A few weeks ago I re-read Wraith and noticed how awesomely written it is. So different from all the other rulebooks nowadays and was reminded of what was so fantastic about the WoD stuff back then (never really noticed V20 actually.) So I am, of course, hoping to find the same artistic and immersive writing style in V5, which is hoping, not expecting because, well, it's got to be modern... I guess I will see tomorrow, but the way these videos are presented, also by someone who actually writes for White Wolf, raised my expectations again. I can imagine the pressure. Do not disappoint me, mortals.

This was when graphics cards were too expensive due to Crypto Miners buying them up in bulk. Thankfully, prices are dropping now, so you could probably get an even better PC than mine. Intel i7--6700k at 4GHz 16GB Memory Nvidia GTX 950 with 2 GB memory (wish it was at least 4gb memory)

I had no intention of getting 5E Vampire. I'd LARPed the old WoD version (Minds Eye Theatre) for about a decade and been heart broken by White Wolf when they just simply abandoned it. Brandon nope. In older Versions it worked something Like this: Humanity 10--> you Wake up when the sun is Behind the horizon. Humanity 1--> you Wake up 2 hours later. You can survive twilight and Dawn sunlight, its just ... Unpleasent. As Long as it isnt Direct sunlight, you'll be fine.

Okay but here's a question that V5 has raised in my head: Can Kindred "activate" those dead organs? It seems so given that V5 makes reference to vampiric sexuality which at the very least requires some bodily function. Requiem gave us the answer with Flush of Life as a vitae consuming practice that allowed Kindred to take on "living" traits temporarily. Or is this just like the other feature of kindred? Like their movement and thought powered by whatever supernatural effect keeps them in a liminal state between living and dead.
I know I'm 3 years late, but yes. Blush of Life exists in v5 and it's activated by rousing the blood. Let's you appear peachy, have a heart beat, fool certain scanners, and appear alive during medical checks. Also need it for certain activities where you need an organ functioning like lungs for giving yourself buoyancy by filling them with air or when you're sleeping with someone.
The night before I made my first Malkavian Mandala, of my own, from the blood left from my mother.. You should see it... It isn't as sublime as the original, but it is glorious! Red formations that make my head feel... better. And the Painting likes it too, when I copied it.. and the painting,... "The Malkavian Madala", it partake of the vitae I fed it, changing in a form of glee and joy. A Nirvana of nothing for me. Better. . So I think I'll do more practice work tonight.. Some more meditation of the mandala...

Um... I still have too much humanity to vivisect another Kindred. That being said, studying the notes of Tzimisce and Hunters provides good enough secondhand information. And yes, that's after I've _taken care of_ those Hunters.

Okay but here's a question that V5 has raised in my head:
Can Kindred "activate" those dead organs? It seems so given that V5 makes reference to vampiric sexuality which at the very least requires some bodily function.
Requiem gave us the answer with Flush of Life as a vitae consuming practice that allowed Kindred to take on "living" traits temporarily.
Or is this just like the other feature of kindred? Like their movement and thought powered by whatever supernatural effect keeps them in a liminal state between living and dead.
I know I'm 3 years late, but yes. Blush of Life exists in v5 and it's activated by rousing the blood. Let's you appear peachy, have a heart beat, fool certain scanners, and appear alive during medical checks. Also need it for certain activities where you need an organ functioning like lungs for giving yourself buoyancy by filling them with air or when you're sleeping with someone.

The night before I made my first Malkavian Mandala, of my own, from the blood left from my mother..
You should see it... It isn't as sublime as the original, but it is glorious! Red formations that make my head feel... better. And the Painting likes it too, when I copied it.. and the painting,... "The Malkavian Madala", it partake of the vitae I fed it, changing in a form of glee and joy. A Nirvana of nothing for me. Better. . So I think I'll do more practice work tonight.. Some more meditation of the mandala...

Vampires might be proof that the philosophy of Dualism has some merit. If the mind is somehow a projection from another universe and the brain an antenna of sorts; then maybe being a vampire is somehow deranging this connection.

You know, we got how many Twilight movies and how many Twilight rip offs with vampires. Gimme a movie about the world you're talking about, hell, gimme a series on HBO, Starz, etc. I'll watch it in a heartbeat. Also cause I miss watching Kindred The Embraced as a kid.
There was a single season of a VtM show called Kindred: the Embraced made back in ‘96. It’s about a vampire prince that’s friends with a mortal detective, acting sort of like an advisor on the supernatural community for him.
