you forgot to mention that every poseidon on the planet builds gem of iso which makes it alot harder to escape his whirlpool, also sprint > beads if you want to counter poseidon's combo as sprint has lower cooldown and makes you immume to slow while giving you a speed boost allowing you to run from the kraken before it pops out, but aegis will always be the number 1 kraken counter
LionLostInTime Sprint no longer removes slows. I have found that no matter what, I'm always able to move out of a Whirlpool...Then again, I main Ra, so my movement speed is at 500 for about half the game.
couple things you missed as someone who mains poseidon mid. For one his 2 is not his only escape. His 3 and 1 can be used defensively just as much as they can offensively. You can whirlpool at your feet, which slows them as it tugs them to the middle, then quickly tidal surge directly behind you after a couple seconds to knock them back into the middle of the whirlpool. Even without his 2 active you can use this to easily escape most gods, seeing as the whirlpool will cripple them. Poseidon has immense escape potential when his abilities are timed correctly. I have used this to save myself and team mates very often. And as far as auto attack based goes, you don't even need attack speed or movement items. I stack into polynomicon in alot of my games. Polynomicon gives you immense additional burst while also making stacking your passive that much more viable. This helped me alot back in the days of the depleting passive bar over time. Last thing, I know this is know your enemy more than a how to guide, but I would recommend gem of iso almost every time as poseidon, the additional slow from abilities makes your whirlpool that much more devastating, and emphasizes the need for beads even more. Poseidon absolutely has utility and his control in teamfights is one of the best in the game. His graph should definitely be higher.
I personally find Tidal Surge to be a very reliable offensive ability, and a main fourth use would be to set up a Whirlpool on someone, and if they continue towards you, use it to keep them in the Whirlpool for sustained slow and damage. Added with Trident and/or Kraken, this combo is lethal in endgame.

THE biggest tip for new pos players (imho) it to know when to use your ult to best effect. a lot of the time its better to be patient and wait until you can hit 2 or 3 + targets rather then hit just one. (tho in a 1v1 OR if you can take out a key target like the other teams adc or mid then go for just a single man ult). :) also the high damage is AWESOME at securing a gold fury and or fire giant buff. so sometimes you want to save it for that. when playing up agents gods like loki or serqet you can drop krackan right on top of you to kill them if then try and kill you. :) last thing is that isis, and janus and kuku are all good counters picks to pos (which means they do well against him in lane). janus can use his ult to get out of pos's combo, isis can do isis things and just win lane :3, and kuku can stay even with pos and play safely all the time so he doesn't die. that's all i can think of right now haha good luck playing pos. he's awesome!
an other tip for every 1 who is fighting against poseidon. sometimes if you are going to kill poseidon be cautious about a panic ult. i have lots of experience that a poseidon is going to ult you when panicing to survive
Btw Trendkill, you made a mistake in the video in regards to Poseidon's Ultimate. The damage in the center isn't 340 at rank 5, it's 270+30% + 340+60% as the center damage is added on to the base, not as a replacement value. (And is actually treated as an additional hit) So overall the center actually does: 610+90% damage.
As a pos land- I whirlpool and Kraken at max tides- then trident to get back up to 35% tide so I can wave u. Plus I use Fatalis so I can catch up if u try to escape

I remember I one made a judgement call with beads and a whirlpool+Kracken... If you can survive his ult combo, you know that his passive, and his damaging abilities, are down so you have a much better chance in a fight. I was playing Scylla in a joust. We misengaged and I was left as the only one alive at their phoenix at half health without sentinel to get away. I retreated through the jungle with a Poseidon following me and I saw the whirlpool appear below me, so I made a split second decision. "If I stop to avoid it, he catches up. If I get CC'd by it, he catches up.", so I beads'd through a Kracken as a half-health Scylla, turned around, dodged his wave, and sic-em and crushed him to death. I don't remember exactly how much health I was left on but I know it was single figures.
Very nice video, I was a little 'meh' about Poseidon before as I frequently play guardians and playing against Poseidons that don't build tidal surge stacks. But now I both have an urge to try him out, and understand his abilities better.
Love when they mention purification beads for all these gods. Idk if they realized you aren't always fighting them one on one. So if you use your beads then you are fucked when it comes to other gods like example you use beads to escape ymir after he freezes you then end up in a whirlpool and die because you can't dash out thats nice. The cooldowns on actives are so high especially in modes like joust its kinda hard to fight when you are trying to be safe.
I was playing pos yesterday in assault and got a quadra with the kraken then later got a triple. Lots of fun. Tip for his ult. Make sure you have full tide, run up and whirlpool underneath them first then ult them. This will knock them in the air, stun them. And pull them to the center of the whirlpool. Then go up and use your one to kill of anyone who is still alive. use your 2 if you need speed to catch up to them.

Nah the graph of utility is so faaalse... like the whirlpool and Kraken alone can make the graph of utility go in the top, whirlpool is such a strong and annoying move and the kraken can change a teamfight outcome.

Utility primarily is used to mean a god's ability to use skills in different ways, although it also refers to stat buffs on skills (e.g. Khepri's 2 has a lot of utility attached). Whirlpool has great CC (hence the high control) but really is only used for 2 things- either zoning, or setting up his other spells. Kraken is damage only. I'd give him a little higher utility, but not top.
+Sgt Gyn utility is slightly off, utility is from how it benefits you (e.g. damage taken reduction). Knockbacks, knock ups and all that craziness are under crowd control
I feel like Poseidon's CC should be off the chart. 3 of his abilities have CC. His main CC is the pool. drop it in team every 4 second (max cooldown) and watch them try to step out of it. In team fight it just too good.
That fucking whirlpool has a delay on the cripple??? That explains A LOT. When I used whirlpool, it never ever crippled anyone, everyone could just dash or jump or teleport out of it! But if someone whirlpooled ME, it would cripple me, always! That explains so much: it only cripples you, if you don't have the reflexes of a god, which like 99% of the people who play this game do. And I have a reaction time measured in seconds.
I'm a poseidon player (I'm mastery 10), and I LOVE playing on attack speed. It make the Aegis completly useless against me since I'm deadly with my basic attacks instead of my skills. I'm using my skills to poke, annoy and keeping my ennemis from escaping my basics attacks.
Tip for playing against Poseidon is get Winged Blade. When hit with a whirlpool and Winged Blade's passive is ready you're instantly faster. A lot of times I find myself escaping the kraken just from having Winged blade.
That's wrong, his pool is not slow but just pull, the only slow je has is kraken. Best way to avoid it is sprint. Juke kraken, immunity to slows and its every 60 seconds do you can use it once for kraken, then for gank and play safe, before you have it up. In lategame you can take heavenly agility and help your team. Just look at poss' positoning, and juke it, easy af, NP and laning is won against poss.. Well.. Next person will fuck me on mid... :(
Please do a Know your enemy on AO Kuang, understand he is a assassin but he is Mage and I struggle hitting his auto attacks it seems like it has a very short range.
The Horned King TK is a bit misleading about the 2. The extra hits from the Trident don't deal any basic attack damage and thus won't work with basic attack items, but they will stack his passive. Each prong is granted ability damage so they will apply any item effects that proc from abilities like Iso Gem or Spear of the Magus.
Nicolás Colombo Yep- I was confused once because his additional "basics" weren't hitting AMC hives or Ah Puch corpses, asked Drybear on twitter, it was confirmed- they aren't basic attacks, they are spells that look identical to his basic. So the outer projectiles proc spell effects like Gem of Iso, but not Telkhines or Demonic Grip.
Best way to beat a Poseidon....just throw something at him and back up, watch him get scared and use whirlpool and kraken, then just hunt him down. Because every Poseidon ALWAYS uses kraken when they're scared.

Whirlpool has a bit of casting time so you have to already be close enough to auto for it to be effective, and tidal surge if you're trying to chase someone won't catch up or reach long enough.
Finally gonna talk about Anubis. I got a Diamond rank on him and he really isn't that OP as people say. For crying out loud 2 of Anubis' abilities roots himself on the spot. He is powerful against noobs, and casuals because people forget things called actives..but I can't wait to hear what you got to say about Anubis and probably see something worth trying out.
He really is. He really have only high pen and lifesteal going for him, but he is far to easy to counter and kill. Like i said he is only OP against noobs and some casuals who don't buy actives.
