Thanks for sharing! I play an old professional Muramatsu silver flute with a JR Lafin headjoint and I love my flute. However when I picked it up after revision today, my French friends gave me the chance to try a Q3 Haynes flute and I couldn’t believe it. What a fantastic flute! The headjoint bluffed me and the mechanics is great! Try them out!!! I might end up owning one after this surprise today. Really great flutes!

Am I correct in thinking that the Q3 has a richer tone, compared to the Q2, when it's just the difference in keywork materials ?

Indeed! Adding a mechanism of solid silver substantially increases the weight of the instrument, which will, all other things being equal, usually result in a perceived added richness to the sound!
