      The True Rap/Hip Hop Mount Rushmore:
      James Brown, George Clinton, DJ Flowers, DJ Hollywood, Disco King Mario, The Black Spades, Dewey "Pigmeat" Markham, The Jubalaires, Luis Armstrong, The Mills Brothers, The 1st Gen. New York B-Boys and many many other FBA'S who inspired them.
      None were Jamaican, Bahamian or Puerto Rican!

  • @theDavidChannel1
    @theDavidChannel1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +36

    This just goes to show how important James Brown was to the creation and foundation of hip-hop music and culture. Dude was bigger than Elvis and inspired generations of artists including giants like Michael Jackson and Prince. Says a lot about the man and his music!

    • @KtotheG
      @KtotheG 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      James Brown inspired everybody. He's the Godfather of Soul and really one of the pioneers of rock and roll. He's in the same group of rock pioneers like Ike Turner, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Big Mama Thornton, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe

    Let me just say...in 18 minutes, he explained how the 2 elements started and it was filled with knowledge. I would also like to say that Kurtis Blow, had everything to do with where rap is today. Run was his DJ for awhile, he produced the Fat Boys 1st LP and there was a time KB reigned supreme. He was instrumental in the game and I love his music.

    What I like about this interview is Kurtis broke down the difference between the Hip Hop DJ's (The Bronx) and the Disco DJ's (Queens & Brooklyn) In the beginning of Hip Hop the music centered on the break part of the record and the b-boys. This is what separated The Bronx from Queens and BK which are claiming to be the founding father's of hip hop
