Seems like a lot of trouble to convert digital video files to old film but Ben probably knows how.

This projector was produced I believe by Chinon or GAF not Bell & Howell. These were made in Japan in the mid-70's.

I have 2 projectors in my possession. One is my Kodak Super Showtime 8 projector and it works good and runs very well, and second is my Kodak Instamatic movie projector M110. My Kodak Instamatic is one of the best projectors that runs standard and Super 8 movies. I have two Super 8 films including "Cinderella's Surprise Dress" and "Cinderella's Fairy Godmother" and the rest of these are standard 8mm including the Castle Films titles and they are all cartoons. My Kodak Instamatic M110 can run Super 8 silent films, but it lacks the sound. "Cinderella's Surprise Dress" was Super 8 sound and it was the only Super 8 film that never had a label says "Magnetic Sound". I run a Super 8 sound film on my Kodak Instamatic M110 and there was no sound and no superimposed titles. This was due to the lack of sound equipment.

Ironically I own a Super 8 model from 1969 and an actual commercial use 16mm projector from 1980's that at one point was used at my local Zoo to run National Geographic documentaries. They both work.
I've yet to buy film reels for them.

Pretty cool, I’m pretty sure my parents still have one. All of our old home movies of us as babies were filmed on it. I just wish they had sound...yes, i’m old😂

It doesn't have to have been stored in a hot place - PVC insulation reacts poorly to Polystyrene and tends to go all stiff and disgusting. Might as well replace the cord if it happens.

I also got this one off of eBay back on Wednesday, and it's my GAF 3000-S Super 8 sound projector, one of my newest finds as part of my family of movie projectors. It works great and it's a Super 8 only, and it doesn't run standard 8mm films. The Sears version that you have has a similar design than the GAF does, but mine has all of the features including the volume control, sound on sound control, and it has a cool feature such as a record button where you can record music or something else onto a Super 8 sound projector, and also has a microphone jack and aux jack where you can hook up to an MP3 player or any devices for the Super 8 sound projector, but yours does not have a record button or any special features, and yours is a barebones version of the GAF 3000-S series. The back has an external speaker where you can connect it to a speaker or use it as an aux input to hook up to your stereo amplifier or receiver. It has the same auto-threading as the one in my GAF 3000-S. I will be showing you a demonstration of my GAF 3000-S soon.

A fine installment for the Archive's "Nightlight" service (actually been looking forward to this one too). Hey wait, "Nightlight" service? You've really been thinking this out since "The Death of Analog TV" season finale a couple of weeks ago ... which makes me think we have EXTRA MUCH to look forward to whenever Season 4 (or should that be Archive 4.0?) launches. One more thing: Early on you briefly introduce us to the MBox 2 (for recording mics) since it just happens to be there. Future Ben's (not really) Junk installment?

Fulgencio Pritchett I think the EBS/EAS (emphasis on international counterparts) is worth revisiting someday assuming Ben can find adequate material in his digging. Although: "Nightlight," to me, definitely references the analog TV shutdown since it references the 30-day window that certain stations were allowed to leave their analog transmitters active, only to show the NAB informational loop on how to upgrade to DTV (because they had transitioned their regular programming to DTV transmitters).

+brcaa Yeah me too, the style of the dubbing reminds me about the old DelArte studio, right around the same era they dubbed the original Scooby-Doo and The Flintstones.
