In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world. There are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions, welfare, unemployment benefits, disability benefits and the numerous other programs, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia. Multiculturalism destroys the fabric and identity of a country. Socialism bankrupts a country.

Our oldest son graduated from Queens and has moved to Europe with no intention of returning to Canada. He’ll either stay in Europe (where he’s in graduate school) or move to the USA (on his US passport). He said, “Dad, why would I want to live in a country (Canada) where the government is committed to flooding the labor market every year with hundreds of thousands of people from India and China? Canada’s not a country, so much as a mediocre business.”
I am Indian-American living in BC, and the only reason I am here is: 1. My parents are U.S. citizens, living in Kent and I am waiting for my green card (since my petition was delayed due to covid), so I can meet them every now and then quickly. 2. I knew French, so i was able to get a PR relatively quickly. Otherwise, I wouldn't have come, regardless- Canada and Canadians are great ! :)
I guess it depends on each individual's situation. For instance, if your in STEM field, it doesn't make sense to be in Canada. The jobs here are poor relative to our neighbor to the south.
Igor, this is great news for all of us. Investors will always find opportunities, but the housing market in Ontario has seen unsustainable price increases. Homes that used to cost around $500,000 or less have now surged to over a million dollars, largely driven by heightened demand and limited supply. The pandemic amplified these trends, with many investors benefiting significantly. However, rapid population growth, coupled with insufficient new housing development, has further exacerbated the housing shortage. Canada’s immigration targets, though beneficial in many ways, need to be balanced with realistic housing policies. We need to focus on creating affordable housing solutions to bring prices back to sustainable levels. A healthy market could mean housing prices around $300,000 to $400,000, though I recognize achieving this may be challenging. Stabilizing the market would benefit not only investors but all Canadians, making homeownership more attainable.
I wanted to respond with a top-level comment to someone's characterization of Canada as "New India." Another commenter had characterized this as an "extreme exaggeration." I disagreed with that response for the following reasons. Here in Halifax, NS it's not so much of an exaggeration, depending on where you are. For example the Quinpool Superstore, where I've shopped for nearly 20 years is in the heart of Halifax and depending on the day, a majority of people working there are Indian, and you'll see and hear large numbers of young men speaking in Punjab or Hindi. The sidewalks are full of Indians in different parts of the city such as Dresden Row, Spring Garden Street, Summer Street and more. The statement "New India" is an exaggeration, however, demographic shifts have been both rapid and extreme.
@@Kingdia97 You cared enough to read and respond to my comment. If you had a modicum of intelligence, you'd be able to distinguish between racism, and not wanting your community overrun with Indians. The two concerns are not the same. I'm happy to have an Indian neighbor, but I dont want 40,000 people from whatever Indian town you grew up in to come to my community over the course of 3 years because your own society is so miserable and dysfunctional. The almost childlike nature of your response is all too common, and you do your Indian community a disservice. There are plenty of intelligent Indians who are saying essentially the same things I'm saying. They're embarrassed by the behavior of many Indians in Canada, and they also rightfully blame the Canadian government for allowing this situation to exist.
It seems like the high cost of living & housing crisis is a problem affecting many developed nations (including Canada). As you mention, it is sad seeing foreigners being targeted. Wish politicians around the world would stop the anti-immigrant rhetoric as this is causing emotions to run high. People wanting to emigrate to any country should be fully prepared and informed - I think part of the problem is many people emigrate without understanding the realities they will face abroad.
Nah, if you want to see droves of people leaving a country you should take a look at places like el Darién or the mediterranean and tell me if you see any Canadian over there. And this trend is also within many people from like every single developed country.

I don’t buy the population will go to zero thing. Remember , the target for 2023 was 500k permanent residents. Still Canada took in more than 1.2 million people. 700k+ being temporary residents. Now the plan is to go to 395k per year and eventually 380k per year. They say that the actual temporary residents might be getting those spots. But what happens next? Is Canada not going to take in additional temporary residents (it seems I read somewhere that they are going to take some 400k temporary residents)?! How is it going to add up to a net zero population growth ?! I really don’t understand the liberal govt maths. Remember that under Harper Canada was taking in only 200-250k immigrants per year and back then temporary residents were even less. And still the population was growing well. Just make the country more liveable for people already here then they won’t leave the country and will be able to have a family. Make Canada great again!
