    Thanks, well presented, although background music was annoying and distracting. General consensus elsewhere seems to be to concentrate on tier 2 cards as the best bang for your buck, giving gems and victory / prestige points, but not being too expensive.

      I agree with this comment, the most efficient way for me is to buy 2nd row cards exclusively , build an engine with them, maybe get one level one card, don't even try for nobles. Or buy just level one cards and try for all three nobles. AND look at ladders to get cards , maybe a level three card ( for 5points). Also reserve the 5 point cards. Keep as many coins as you can to buy but buy cards you already have card colours with. Try not to reserve much. Also look at what your opponents are doing and try to block if necessary. Look at all the colours on the board- all white - then buy white cards. There is a bit more to this game than one strategy.

    Saving up for the tier 3 cards is usuallytthe best strategy. Specifically, the ones that cost 7 of one gem. If the tier 1 cards have a lot of blue gems for example, and there is a tier 3 card that cost 7 blue gems u can easily get 2 or 3 blue gem cards then get the rest using blue tokens or reserve tokens. However, if there arent that many tier 1 cards with the same color its probably not the best.

    have just played with 2 players, but yes i've found that if there are a lot of first and second tier cards of one color and there is a third tier card that needs 7 of that color, good idea to reserve that tier 3 card at the start. as future tier 1 cards emerge of that color that you need 7 of, you can reserve them immediately if you can't afford them right away. don't waste gold on tier 1 or 2 cards. with 3 gold and going for a few tier 1s of the right color, it isn't that hard to get to 7 of one color. now if that is not the case, i wouldn't be iron clad stuck to that strategy. for example, don't reserve a 4 point card that needs 7 ruby if there are 0 ruby tier 1 and 2 cards to start. once you get one 4 or 5 pointer early, best to focus on tier 2 or tier 1 cards that are worth 1 point that heavily require the gem you already have a lot of. or a 4/4 noble that you already have one of the 4.
    if the nobles have some gem overlap, it can be a good call to just collect almost exclusively tier 1s that contribute to all 3 nobles. once you have 3 nobles, just start taking as many "free" cards with points that you can. however if the nobles are all fairly different, i mostly ignore them. you just can't let the other player get all 3.
    you can also somewhat block nobles in the right circumstance, for example if all 3 nobles need emerald, and you reserve a 4 point card that needs 7 emerald, even if you don't get the noble yourself, if you hog all the low tier emerald cards, your opponent likely won't afford the nobles either and you'll get the tier 3 card.

    1:31 You seem to imply that gold gems help you get Nobles, which is not the case.
    >>
    Whether Nobles are worthwhile might depend on how many of them share a color.

    • @hardyhousegames
      @hardyhousegames  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point. If a lot share the same color it makes it easier to pivot strategy if an opponent snags a noble you were originally going for.

    Numbers matter. I was surprised to discover that, in each row, there are the same number of jewels of each type and the average coin cost for each jewel type is the same. But the designers missed a chance to do the same for average color cost for each jewel. For example the average white cost for a red jewel is much higher than average color cost for any other jewel.

      though it's true that color white cost for red gems are high it only is true on T1 cards. 15 total whites required on all 1T red gems. however, for 2T you pay more black coins(16) than whites(6) for red gems and the highest color pay per gem is actually red(19) coins for white gems. as for 3T, you only need to pay 3 white coins total for all red gems and it's green(23) coins that you need most for red gems. in addition, the total highest of coins of a color for a particular gem is blue(40) coins for green gems. where the total of white coins for red gems is 24.

    Interesting tho, I've always been using the "build up a base of cheap cards first" strategy and it works pretty well. You just confirmed my thoughts ^^

      I aim for one big card get that and then start collecting small cards and then let it add up and get the middle cards and let your cards get the bigger cards

    Simply get nobles and you will win. Zero strategy game.
