  • It's a true legend: Nittaku's Shake Defence is a nice choice for every defender and it's one of the most often downsized blade in the world. Therefore it's not surprisingly, that we made a review of it...

    Thank you very much, this is a pretty good and useful review! I play the NSD since 4 months and will stay with it. Playing at the table with a very offensive forehand.
    Situation: I use Hexer GRIP SFX 1.9mm on the forehand and Bomb Talent OX on the backhand.
    With the BT I am not that happy, it's VERY sensitive to backspin!
    Questions:
    1.) Forehand: Would you recommend to change to 1.7mm or even to change to Tenergy (quite expensive)
    2.) Backhand: Thinking of Kamikaze, but not sure if I go for OX or 0.5mm. I used to play D.TeCs 0.5mm for a while but had problems with "Katapult-Effect" on fast topspin serves into my backhand.

      I have two NSD
      The pips I most liked using on NSD are Grass DTechs, Elite Long and Dornenglanz.
      My forehand technique is bad, I currently use Tibhar MX-P 1.7 and Nittaku Fastarc G1 1.8.

    Thanks for the review, very good and useful informations.
    Everywhere it’s said that the NSD works good with almoast all inverted OX rubbers. How about a sponge one? (let’s say 0.5-1.0). Is it still very good at it? Thanks and keep up the good work 👍

    Sir, how do you reduce racket size? Cut with saw or use sand paper? Also, does short pips forehand work ok with NSD? Thank you!

    • @GeblockTT
      @GeblockTT  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should reduce racket size with sand paper. Short pips on forehand don't work well with NSD (normal size).

    How would you compare NSD to S&T Zeus? I play with Zeus with LSD OX on backhand, and I was wondering if the NSD is better or similar? Zeus seems to have similar construction and is probably inspired by NSD. Since you have tested and reviewed both blades, perhaps you could give me your thoughts and comparison. Much appreciated.

      Senad Hadzikadic Zeus ist more dynamic with a little more catapult effect and better forehand side. New NSDs are harder and stiffer than the Zeus blade which increases all kinds of spin reversal. For my style the NSD has the saver and more effective backhand side but both blades are "best of the best"...

      gentle mac, thank you very much for this info, it is exactly what I wanted to know. Attacking with forehand is equally (if not even more) important for my game, so it seems that Zeus will suit me better. I have also downsized the blade to 158 x 151 - more like a standard size and I find it better and faster now.

    Hey bro, I wonder if you can answer my questions. I am interested in this blade, I currently use Victas Koji Matsushita (regular one) with Dtecs OX. I mainly chop mid distance (not too far). Will this blade with the same pips give me more spin reversal chopping mid distance?

    • @no_one_1980
      @no_one_1980 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course! The VKM is clearly a perfect chopping blade for modern defence far beyond the table and very effective on the forehand side but it is not as stiff than the NSD. The Shake Defence is THE nr. one blade to play with Grass D.Tecs and other ox pimples! Reversal will increase! You won't regret buing this blade for sure if the forehand fits your demands.

      This is why I am interested, I have been told this blade is the best for spin reversal, and since I don't play far back like the professional modern defenders, just mid distance like maybe 5ft from table, I have a feeling the NSD will be better. Will the Stiga Mantra S be good with this blade (it's what I use) and in what sponge 2.1, 1.9?

    • @no_one_1980
      @no_one_1980 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never played one of them... Sorry Nick

    • @ndragon88
      @ndragon88 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      gentle mac ah well as long as the OX pips give me more spin reversal mid distance then I will definitely buy this blade.

    • @no_one_1980
      @no_one_1980 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I think you should give it a try. I played the Stiga Genesis on it and this worked for me.

    Try the 1.9 version. 1.7 needs really explosive sponge to counterloop. Normally I use T64...

    Wie verkleinert man das Holz denn? Kann man das verkleinert bestellen?

    • @GeblockTT
      @GeblockTT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Am besten geht das Zuhause wohl mit einem Bandschleifer. Den Griff kann man so auch "Freihand" kürzen, muss dabei nur das Metallschild an der Unterseite vorher entfernen und anschließend wieder aufkleben. Wenn man sich nicht nicht traut, kann man evtl. auch den örtlichen Tischler oder Schreiner ansprechen.

  • @GeblockTT
    @GeblockTT  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    INFO: Das NSD wiegt unverkleinert ca. 91 g und nicht wie im Video gesagt 81 g (bei 0:53).

      mit 81 g würden es wohl auch kaum so viele verkleinern ;)

      Stimmt, allerdings sollte man den "Luftwiderstand" beim offensiven Spiel mit dem Großblatt auch nicht außer Acht lassen.
