    Awesome! I'm in danger of repeating myself, but this is one of the places I probably will never see in real life. And it's amazing that we're able to see Iran,Teheran and the surroundings in such great detail this peaceful way. In the political climate we have today it's great we still have this way to explore. 😊

    I’ve never had much interest in the Middle East so wouldn’t have thought of this flight. I did fly over Baghdad because my son was deployed there a few years ago, and found it disappointing. Tehran is much bigger than I expected and the whole area looked very good. Thanks for taking me somewhere completely unexpected 😊

      @@MSFSFlightPlans It was really good. The highlight for me was the alligator sanctuary. We drove 11 hours home on Sunday, then took another club day trip yesterday to the SAC museum in Nebraska. We’ve been there before but it’s a fun place to see a lot of military planes. Today I’m home catching up on my TH-cam backlog 😊

    Fun Fact; The Horton Brothers were working on flying wing gliders in the late 1920's. They are often given credit for influencing the B-2 and such but that is not true. Jack Northrup was working on his own flying wing aircraft in the 1920's in a case of Parallel development.

      I was thinking that same thing. I've flown a lot of fighters like that, but something about this one was different ... really sucked me into the sensation of being inside the thing. Really wild.

    Fun Fact, the HO-229 used a lot of wood in its airframe due to shortages of material late in the war. I have seen it at the The Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia, it is in the restoration hanger being worked on.

      @@MSFSFlightPlans The Aircraft had a tubular frame but the skin was literally plywood. One of the biggest problems in developing the aircraft is not having a glue strong enough to to keep the plywood skin from peeling.

    The reason for so much smoke is early turbojets were very inefficient at burning fuel so there were a lot of particulates in the exhaust stream. As engines became more and more advanced the amount of particulates in the exhaust declines and smoke trails disappeared. Please don't be offended, I am just an aviation nut and love sharing information.

      @@MSFSFlightPlans As for the engine starters, I do not know. Not very much information survived about the aircraft and a lot of it is just myth and hearsay. I remember seeing this aircraft in 1984 at the Air And Space Museum's storage facility called Silver Hill.

      @@MSFSFlightPlans Also there a ton of documentaries calling this the Worlds First Stealth aircraft, this is total crap. The Hortons chose the flying wing because they believed it was the most efficient design for an aircraft and were totally unaware of things like radar cross sections.

    As a flying wing design, you should not need a notch of flaps on takeoff, unless you are in a STOL situation. The Horton did not have afterburners, that had not been invented yet.
