- The Buffalo Bills beat the Miami Dolphins 31-10, but Tua Tagovailoa suffered a 3rd concussion in the defeat. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes ask if Tua should retire, and if the Bills put the NFL on notice after securing a dominant win.

Out of every single argument that was debated about Tua across all networks, Nick broke it down beautifully. His body just isn’t built for the NFL, uniquely in danger due to his concussion susceptibility.
I think it would be scary to tackle him hard
Yeah I would walk away if I was him good thing he did get a contract

Dear Wildes,
When you guys are preparing to do a "bigger than sports" segment, ex. AB's off the field issues, the post-George Floyd protests by athletes, Tyreek Hill's arrest, Tua's health, do you guys prepare differently than when you're doing a regular "about sports" segment?
Thank you.
Retiring at 27. Wildes, he has more money than everyone in this comment section combined probably for life.
He needs to stop playing before he’s a vegetable.
and he’s spent over half this life tryna get there, just signed a big contract, it not ez to just walk away from that
He ain’t built for football
Just like we should not send Military out there and NASA should be shut down too many deaths in those jobs
Nah I have more money
He should watch the video of the late Miami LB Nick Buoniconti. Before his death in July 2019, Buonoconti (who had multiple concussions during his playing years) said through tears that he couldn't dial a telephone anymore because he didn't remember how to or even what room he had just come from. He said he wished he NEVER played football.
Tua at 26 has generational wealth. Walk away while you still have your faculties intact, man. He doesn't need to prove anything to anyone
Yeah, I think, he has a guarantee of 53 million. I can see the back offices, talk to TUA, take the 53 million and we will get you a TV job upfront to help bring in more revenue for him.
He also doesn’t have to rush it. Wait to see if he even gets cleared to play. No reason to retire today.
But I agree, I wouldn’t ever step on a football field again (to play in a game that is).
@aneesabashir8496 it should be 53 million and this seasons salary. Not bad amount to live in Maui Hawaii

I could not believe he not only dove head first but also leaned into it so hard. That was reckless especially for him.
Tua don’t have to give up football just playing. He can be a qb coach, announcer, analyst it’s other football jobs he can get.
There’s nothing like playing the game bro.

as a Panthers fan i remember the sight of watching tears pour down Luke Kuechly's face as he was carted off the field for the last time with a major concussion
it's one of the most awful things to watch a player go through other than seeing them in their 40's/50's not being able to leave dark rooms without getting headaches, drooling on themselves, or (worst case scenario) literally losing their minds or going full Junior Seau ...... it's fully Tua's career, his life, his choice, but man you seriously gotta think about the future..... another contract won't buy him a new brain
Why is Bryce Young playing... he's not built for it! He's smaller than Tua. He's an accident/injury ready to happen.
@@People-Business-And-IdeasBryce young doesn’t have a concussion issue. Just because he’s a little undersized doesn’t mean he shouldn’t play
In a sport this inherently violent, ...all you can really do is minimize, stay on top of diagnostics, and advise players when they really might want to call it a day. Boxing, I find more egregious. I probably wouldn't enter a ring without headgear, especially with all the signs pointing to minor concussions accumulating in effect. Hopefully players stay aware and honest with themselves, and throw in the towel even when they don't want to, if their health is at that much risk.

As a Bills fan I don't often have the pleasure of saying this, but I agree 100% with the full FTF panel today. I'm hoping Tua steps into the broadcast booth or into coaching. Tua is a great person, is a great personality, and has a brilliant football IQ, the NFL is better with Tua involved, but it doesn't have to be as a player. I went from preparing my entire life for something to now trying to find a career that I actually enjoy. Tua luckily has been PAID before being put in this situation of needing to choose. Tua got a doctor fired last time when he was cleared to play

The analysis of the Tua situation is spot on. This is the best sport program on TV. You guys are so honest that is relatable. Best trio in sports entertainment.
I like the idea of Tua retiring from getting hit, without having to retire from playing football. Flag football is in the next Olympics, I would love to see Tua train for and become the quarterback of that team.
Tua's concussion is overshadowing how badly he played. Tua, Hill and Waddle did nothing against former backup defensive backs for the Bills. Tre White, Poyer and Hyde are gone and Taron Johnson was hurt. Ingram was a practice squad player and had 2 INTs.
The Bills didn't put the NFL on notice, IMO. The Dolphins went for it on 4th Down, didn't get it, and immediately gave up a TD in a classic 14 point swing.
The Dolphins are probably not doing any damage this year, though.
@@kylekatarn5964yeah but that’s not what any of the “experts” were saying before the game
Tua stunk, but the whole team was bad. It just proved that they were overhyped.
@kylekatarn5964 not really a 14 point swing when they're going for it on 4th down at midfield. It's not like they were knocking on the door for a TD.
@mikep3813 That's fair, but if I'm the Dolphins, my mentality is that I'm trying to get 7 on that drive to tie the game. Two plays later and they're down 14. That was the main reason I mentioned the swing.

Nick, don't try to cut off Wildes when he is talking for the first time in a topic like this.
Josh Allen won't be running as much for the next two months they're gonna limit risks with him playing with a broken hand.
I was medically retired from my dream job for multiple concussions. I'm not able to do certain things like riding motorcycles etc for fear of another head injury. I'm already suffering multiple migraines per week on average. It's not worth it, Tua. Live a blessed life outside of football.
"That can happen at any point":

As a bills fan, I don’t always agree with Nick, but I think his conclusions on the Bills being a bit underrated because the players they lost were a bit overrated (or past their prime or hadn’t played much due to injury) are dead on
I only say he should retire just because of how the concussion went. Basic hit and got concussed. Sucks but the league has to step in for his sake.

I think he meant getting into air force ✈️ flight school and pilot training is difficult because it is
At least Brou acknowledges - "they are just as good now, as they were with him (Diggs)" - It's not that hard to admit lol, and most of us Bills fans knew it before the season opened. Shakir was being underrated, and between adding Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, MVS, and Keon, you knew that Josh would have no problem, once he gained some chemistry with these playmakers. Add in great RB's and TE's and offensive line continuity and, yeah. I think most of us knew it would be functionally equivalent, if not better. 🤷♂

At this point a gust of wind could give Tua a concussion
I said all offseason in those Tua topics we are one concussion away from talking about him having to retire yet it wasn't talked about much on here or any other show. They would generally mention can he stay healthy but never really pointed out the real concern and how quick it could turn out to be a disaster for Miami like it is right now.

I think a big part of it is, von miller no longer draws the double, so he has the ability to pressure, and it creates the chaos
Leaving the Chiefs has been great for Tyreek. Now he doesn't have to play extra games in playoffs and can relax by his pool in January.

My respect for Nick just went up. Hes absolutely right saying the Bills would be fine with all of the losses. Poyer and Hyde were monsters for 5-6 years, but injuries and age caught up to them and the Bills got younger and deeper at safety. And Stef was amazing, but a big part of the offense was making sure he got the ball. He was the top dude in the league, consistently, for 4 years, but being able to spread it around makes Josh and the offense that much better.
Exactly what Bills fans have been saying all offseason
Digs was causing nothing but problems in Buffalo!
Funny how the media, and others, are starting to analyze the Diggs situation now, when it was totally obvious to Bills fans all along.
These guys complement Buffalo like passing a kidney stone. They have to do it, but it’s done reluctantly and painfully.
Josh Allen MVP
I never agree with Nick. But I do here. The players they lost were older and overrated. Cap savings and replaced with young talent. Bills are remaining relevant and a threat
No team is putting the NFL "on notice" in Week 2. Geez.
Tua knocking himself out on damar hamlins chest is an insane feat
I don’t know how much his injury guarantees are or exactly how they all work but if it’s a huge amount, I don’t see the Dolphin’s brass risking it again
I think it was more about the Dolphins being overrated than the Bills proving something. We all knew the Bills were going to at least win the division.
Prayers for Tua
Tua needs to do what is best for his family first, his kids and wife and then himself. He needs to be there for his family. He became a star QB in NFL, he has accomplished something great, time to hang up the helmet and enjoy the rest of his life. Prayers for good health for him!
What are these cherry picked false narratives? Allen is 14-4 in September since 2019 and so they are just this September champ team? He is 15-5 in December during that same time period and 5-0 in January (regular season) .. so 20-5 in December and January since 2019. WTF are you talking about dude ... If you want to start in 2020 he is 18-3 in December and January's regular season games. What a weird narrative to try to start that they are "September champs". You get a paid a lot to do this, comon now.
Nick is right about his assessment about the talent that left. Loved those dudes, but Tre hadn't been healthy in years. Poyer and Hyde were missing games all the time and were slowing down. So at least on defense, the media for sure overrated those departures.
Let's face it, these guys just have trouble saying that the Bills are really good.
Buffalo proved they don't need a huge game from Josh Allen to beat a good team. I guess that probably puts the league on notice.
"Limit the mistakes" sigh

I gave up boxing after the 4th concussion. Every concussion was easier than the first. It took me 6-7 years to be normal and not flip out for no reason. I still forget the easiest most simple things and I really hope tua just takes care of himself ❤.
It’s really his 4th concussion.. the first one was ruled an “back injury” But we all know it wasn’t. That being said Miami has prob a clause in his contract for this that negates a portion of his guaranteed money.
Tua can't protect himself. That's the biggest problem. He literally initiated a collision and forced Hamlin to try and play protector as he led with his helmet directly into Hamlin. If Tua can't protect himself on a hit that wasn't even a full on tackle then how is it going to look when a guy really levels him and what defender is going to want to attempt to hit Tua after this. So, it's also not fair to defenders if he keeps playing because they'll all be thinking that they can end this guys career with one solid hit. He should highly consider retiring. If not for him then for his family so that they don't have to suffer watching every game wondering if he's going to get out of it without getting injured again.
Tua should retire. No if, and, or but.
No way. Many of your favorite players have had more concussions than Tua
@henryslatt9041 playing as qb who? The guys u talking about all way bigger than Tua. 2nd it's every year we get to see this man down like this I want to watch football not Tua . Hurt every year and it being the same thing. I get your point but as a qb u getting the least amount of contact out of any player who gets on the field outside of a kicker.
Rewatching that play, it is even more upsetting; made sense that he ran it himself but then he just slammed into Hamlin when there was no need to do it. There was no other Bill even after him, they seemed to just let him pass them by...and no other ones between him and the goal. He just could gave dropped to the ground. Extra disturbing because he put his head down, slammed into Hamlin's chest (eek) and made it more dangerous for both of them. Hope he will be ok.
Yeah his decision making on that play is mind boggling
Nick: "I think people overrated the NAMES that the Bills lost in the offseason"
Bills Fans: OK, that's only what we've been saying for the past 6 months!
No sirs, it shouldn't be Tua's decision. If the league allows him to play knowing what they now know about concussions and seeing Tua convulsing on multiple occasions they (and Miami) would be guilty of criminal negligence and subject to lawsuits. If I were his coach there's no way I'd let him back on the field.
No one taught Tua how to slide?
He’s too reckless
he was going for the first down since it was 4th down and he didnt know he already had it
Thats literally the cause of this concussion, you slide and avoid contact simple as that
Retiring at 27 as a multimillionaire doesn’t seem so bad…
Tua needs to wear one of those Practice BBL helmets in Game

He was actually wearing a helmet rated higher than the capped helmets against concussions.
It was from his neck getting sprung that bbl hat wouldn’t have done anything
That guardian cap will not help him.... His body is just not built for it...
I've never heard such a fair, unbiased analysis of Josh Allen and the bills from nick prior to this. As long as the media isn't overhyping them, nick seems to fairly discuss them. He doesnt have to be the contrarian.
Nick actually showing Josh Allen some love. Can't believe my eyes. He's turning over a new leaf y'all
Because he’s not currently seen as a threat to Mahomes
His entire point has always been “he’s not as good as Mahomes”. That’s it.
His takes that Burrow is a better QB are silly to me, but many people have that view so it’s not crazy.
@ckaiborbor as far as an individual talent he's the only one that's a threat
@@jonnstewart2023 I’m a Mahomes guy so I tend to believe there is no threat currently
@@thatstheway2429 Fanboys never see that.
The Bills and the Bengals are like opposites in how their seasons often trend sense they got their current QBs. First couple weeks Bills always look like one of the best while Bengals always open like one of the worst, most of the season they both sit near the top of the league but rarely are the "big bad" that everyone is compared to, then at the end of the season and into the playoffs the Bengals play their best ball and are one of the best in the league while the bills fall off a bit and struggle against the top teams.
Dolphins shouldn't be on the hook for the injury guarantee IF the injury was Tua's fault. That concussion was 1000% avoidable
May want to look up the definition of guarantee.
Dolphins are the team that signed the contract with a qb made of glass.
Possibly not a popular opinion: either the dolphins or the NFL should force Tua to retire, paying him a “settlement” on top of his guaranteed money to sweeten the deal. If Tua ever gets hurt again in the near future, that is a terrible look for the NFL and they absolutely want to avoid that all costs.
^ this is only if he pledges to play again
Why does he need a settlement on top of his guarantees?
Serious question
@@Landofhim you’re right, he doesn’t NEED the settlement money from the league, but I think that would basically allow the league the force his retirement to happen. A buy-out may be a better way to describe it. Protects the league from getting sued by Tua or his family
I think Tua wanted to pull a Josh Allen, sacrifice the body, and get the Dolphins fired up to gain momentum. Much respect to him for playing aggressively. Unfortunate what happened & hope he recovers well. He's a really good dude so we all are rooting for him.
Aww man.. I assume this story is gonna be like my friend’s story.. always wanted to be in the air force.. worked hard to become one and then bc he had glasses didn’t qualify 2:31
It's kinda nuts that it was Hamlin of all ppl who hit him. Besides the fact that Hamlin is not very big at all, but what Hamlin went through and is back playing.
Irony
This is why players want to get paid before stepping on the field, injuries can change everything
And it's why owners don't want to pay a quarter billion dollars to a guy who plays less than 2 games
I read both comments and why should i as a player not be paid risking life and limb for a multi-billionaire owner who's only getting richer and richer of the back of my hard work and complains when it's time to pay, tell me what that sounds like
September champions? Does he not remember the Bill's 8 game win streak up until the divisional round against the Chiefs?
